I stayed in Starhotels for a few days for business. It was my first time. Breakfast is good. Mostly business people were around. In short, I do not suggest this hotel for tourists who look more character. It is a clean and decent hotel. But it is far from the center. If your business is near to the hotel, you can stay here without any problem. To me, the only negative side is you need to take a taxi each time, when you want to go to the center. There are two modern malls nearby. If you do not want to go to the centeral Milan (for dinner), you can eat in the reataurants of these Malls. However, these malls look like any other modern malls all around the world. So do not look for any italian character there. For my part, I prefer more central hotels.

Ho soggiornato allo Starhotels per alcuni giorni per lavoro. Era la prima volta che venivo qui. La colazione era buona. La maggior parte degli ospiti erano uomini d'affari. In breve, non consiglio questo hotel ai turisti che cercano più carattere in un hotel. La struttura è pulita e discreta, ma è lontana dal centro. Se dovete sbrigare degli affari vicino all'hotel, allora vi consiglio di soggiornare qui senza problemi. Per me, l'unico aspetto negativo è che dovevo prendere un taxi ogni volta volevo andare in centro. Ci sono due centri commerciali moderni nelle vicinanze, quindi se non volete andare fino in centro a Milano per cenare, potete mangiare nei ristoranti di questi centri commerciali (che comunque sono esattamente come qualsiasi altro centro commerciale moderno in ogni parte del mondo). Quindi qui non troverete il tipico carattere italiano. Per quanto mi riguarda preferisco hotel più centrali.

We have been staying in this hotel for 3 days during the Milano Fiera del Mobile . It was a wonderfull experience . It started at the check-in and ended the last day checkin out : such warmth and care from the staffmembers we'd never seen before . We also enjoyed the restaurant with his superb cuisine at reasonable prices and again a fantastic staff . However, there is one minor detail : the hotel is about 4 km away from the nearest metro-station but taxis are easy to get and it will cost you only about 12 to 15 Euro to get to the city centre . Rooms are quiet and the equipment is modern and very clean .

The hotel was clean, the rooms recently renovated, quiet, nice terry robe and slippers. The staff was friendly (with the exception of a few at the front desk). Overall, the hotel itself is a nice place. Unfortunately, I had a few major problems... First, the cleaning staff threw away one of my bags full of brochures, business cards and further contact information/business development material from the furniture fair. Of course the bag was from the best day for me! The front desk was completely useless and unhelpful in this situation. I was devestated! I came to Milan to get contacts to start a new business and they were trashed! Of course the fair was over, so I could not go back. Second, I had a room for 4 nights. I wanted to check out a day early. I told them this upon check in. They said they would charge me for the fourth night anyway. My confirmation (directly from the Starhotel website) said nothing about an early check out penalty. They did, however, state the customary penalty of a one night charge in the event of a "no show". It is far from the fair grounds. It takes a full hour to get there by bus then subway. There are not any bars or restaurants anywhere nearby. The closest place is an ugly shopping mall that is an unpleasnt (industrial) 15 minute walk. There you find fast food. The hotel restaurant was fine, good wine, decent food, but no atmosphere, very "corporate" decor.
