Shhhhhh!
Guest name: mallan, Crowthorne
I rent a house on Agave Real at Valle del Este on a regular basis as it is only a short haul from London to Almeria. I love reading about how good people think the area and course are but please could we keep it to ourselves! it really is the most peaceful part of Spain with the added value that unlike most other areas you feel like it is real! If you can't get to VDE or don't like golf then try the Mojacar beach or Pueblo - just as fab!
Lovely area, great golf

I stayed on the golf course in an owners aparment. but used the hotel facilities on a daily basis. The apartments set around the golf course are of a very high standard, and were very tranquil in March, we virtually had the pool to ourselves. The hotel has a good range of facilities - lovely big swimming pool, with great views over the course. Gym, spa, pool table, internet suite, golf pro shop and driving range. Staff were not very friendly and the buffet restaurant is terrible. Golfers grill bar is a better option. There is a very good independant restaurant at theadjacent centro-commercial. It is called 'Fairways' quite pricy but the quality is excellent. There is also a very friendly British run bar called 'Venues' which is very popular - especially with golfers.
I loved my stay here and would recommend the resort to anyone looking for a quiet holiday in real Spain. There is also another excellent golf course 10 mins away called Desert Springs, which also has a choice of good restaurants. The towns of Vera, Garrucha and Mojacar are within 15 mins drive and offer a bit of shopping, scuba diving, bike hire, pony trekking and a selection of bars and restaurants.

Great Golf Course
Guest name: stevieshirt, london
We didn't stay in the hotel,we we're at the Marina Playa about 15mins away.
Once you've driven along a long and winding road leading into the resort you are greeted by the 1st Hole, immaculately manicured fairways, lovely sanded banker's and some of the best greens i have played on for a resort course, they really do take care of the course.
The region is probably better known for the 'Desert Springs' golf course, but although this is worth playing,Valle Del Este is absolutely by far the better course.
A great test of golf for in my opinion the better player, whatever level you play at take plenty of balls.
The hotel does look very nice, with a lovely pool/bar area, and we are currently looking at returning this yr or very early next yr to stay in this hotel and play the course again.
A big thumbs up!!
