We stayed at the Eden in Hanover for 4 days during the CeBIT 2005 and we were very disappointed by the quality of the hotel in relation with what we paid for a very simple double room. We booked our room via HRS which in general we trust, but the photos of the room have no relation with the reality. The lobby of the hotel and the public rooms are ok, but the room itself was small, with a lamp on the desk which did not function, a relatively clean bathroom with a miniscule shower and awful green light. Our room was on the second floor near the elevator and staircases and you could hear everyone coming in and out in the night. There was an old leather sofa in the room too and no water or fruit basket, although that was promised by the reservation service. We had breakfast in a pleasant spacious room and the staff was friendly and the coffee good. The variety of breakfast was also disappointing: every morning exactly the same things, sme even left-overs from the previous morning. There is a sauna also in the hotel which I didn't have time to try. The hotel is near the city center but not very near the main train station: it took us 25 brisk walk minutes every morning to go to get the train for Hanover-so if anyone needs to be near the station he'd better choose another hotel. There is also a parking possibility in the hotel and a good Italian restaurant (very friendly staff and not bad pizzas) just next to Eden. For our room we paid 171 euros per night incl. breakfast which was of course the exhibition rate but also extreme for such a poor quality. All in all we are disappointed by the Eden.
