If you are choosing a lido de jesolo hotel on the basis of it having a nice pool and terrace - take note: This hotel charges a guests 20 euros a day on top of the room rate for the privalege of sitting by the pool...(this is for a couple - it will be more if you have a family.....) No mention of this charge is made until the guy approaches you with a bit of paper and asks you to sign it to your room as an expense. It left us feeling decieved and exploited. Further insult was added on check out when a restaurant meal we didn't have was added to our bill. Having worked in the hotel industry I accept mistakes happen, but by this point they were playing catch up. The double bed was two units pushed together, and one of the units made us itch.... A shame, as the facilities are nice, the staff are pleasant, the breakfast is good and the beach is excellent... There are a lot of hotels in Jesolo and in truth, this one is probably as good as most of the others, but I'd only put it on your shortlist if it is competitively priced...

We spent 8 days at this hotel in a suite. The beds and pillows are as hard as rocks. There are no drawers only cupboards. The rooms are very dimly lit. The bathroom is so small and you have to practically climb over the toilet to get out of the bath - I pity old people it could be very dangerous. The first time we paid for an film it was a porno film we complained next day because we did not have the four TV movie channels as advertised we were then given one channel and that showed the same film every night. We were asked to order our evening meal at breakfast time. There was no lunch in the restaurant only toast. The mini bar was emptied after the first day. The lights blew a fuse twice. Went to the bar after dinner on the first night there was no one there to serve us - so we didn't bother again. Around the pool you are pestered by pedlars trying to sell you something. J WARNER
