We stayed at the Eisenhut for the last two nights. What an utter disappointment. It is totally overrated and overpriced. We weren't told prior that there was no a/c. The rooms overlooking the Tauber Valley were being renovated and even warmer that ours they said. Temps were up there into the 80's Ick. So as much as we disliked our old and shabby room facing the street, we stayed put. because it was "cooler". For that room on the second floor, we sacrificed two nights of very little sleep. We met people at b'fast this AM who complained of the same problem and felt this was such a rip. The street was right below our rooms. For two nights, patrons of the restaurants below kept us up. Not only that, there were cars, buses and vans zooming by all night long. For a little town this was a heck of alot of traffic for the middle of the night. The first morning, at 6:30am ,some van parked right below our window and kept his engine running forever. I called down to the front desk close to 7am to ask if they could do something about it. Last night, we could hear another guest's CNN program till the wee hours of the morning. What a complete and utter shame. We enjoyed Rothenburg and the food there so much. The Nigth Watchman was also all that everyeone described and more. We walked into the Goldener Hirsch yesterday and the guy at the desk said that they have 20 air-conditioned rooms. Their rooms were less expensive and this seemed like a better deal. If I returned, this is where I would go. The overpriced Hotel Eisenhut was a total and utter disappointment. I feel bad writing this bad review. Some of their staff were nice but it doesn't make up for what we went through. The manager, tried to move us to 3 other "Tauber" rooms but that was it. Each room we looked at was worse than the previous one. Oh and did they mention that that side of the hotel was under renovation with work starting at 7am? They need to practice full disclosure so as to avert this kind of review.

A fabulous hotel in a perfect location. Service, hotel room, restaurant (including breakfast) and hotel in general wonderful and staff extremely helpful. We only had a slight hiccup finding the hotel as there is only limited access to the inner city streets for cars but this was only a minor hassle. Highly reccomended.

we spent one night in this hotel. we choose it because it was highly recommended in our travelguide. the hotel was quite expensive so we choose the cheapest room; 135 euro per night breakfast (16 euro per person) not included. the hotel is very nicely located in the centre of the town and it is nicely furnhised. the room was quite large, we were given a room on the 3rd floor; just under the roof; it had one little window which was by the way nicely camouflaged by courtins. the hotel has no specials like swimmingpool or what so ever. we thought the hotel was far too expensive; the hotel is mainly visited by - japonese- groups. the atmosphere shows it
