Being extremely unfamiliar with the area, I was a little worried about what I was walking in to. Checking in was typical, I did get the rate that I was quoted. The person behind the counter did ask if we wanted to upgrade to one of there rooms that had a jacuzzi. The advertisement of the hotel said they had a pool and I did mention that to my boyfriend in front of the worker. So we declined on the jacuzzi room. The parking area had construction materials taking up the spots that are in front of the side entrance. I'm glad that I did not have a small child with me, because the construction materials were spread all over the place. Got to the room, it was very warm, they must shut off the air when the room is not being used. It did cool off though. I wanted to go check out the pool right away seeing that I was planning on using it on at least one of our days there. It was summer and the temperature outside was in the 90's. What a disappointment. It was a gross green color, definitely unuseable. I feel the worker behind the counter should have told me that when I was talking about it at check-in. On our first morning the maid service walked in our room, without knocking. Thought that was unusual because it was still early and neither I or my boyfriend had gotten a shower. Continental Breakfast was OK. Wasn't the worst stay, however I wouldn't stay there again or recommend to anyone.

I made reservations that I was told would cancel at 4pm as they were non-guaranteed reservations. Didn't arrive in Macon until just after 4pm, so I phoned the hotel and asked if they were honoring walk-up coupons (the coupon rate was about $7 less per night than the rate of my now-cancelled reservations), and they said that they would accept the coupon. When I got to the check-in desk, they initially said I'd have to pay the higher rate since I'd had a reservation. However, the clerk decided to let me use the coupon anyway but said she'd have to give me a second floor room since I was getting the lower rate.
Got to the proper building and entrance only to discover that there was no elevator. After hauling my stuff up the stairs, I entered my very warm room. Seems the A/C is cut off between guests. The room did cool off quickly, but I found it a little disturbing that I could see light coming in from the outside through the cooling unit (I figure that if light can come into the room via the air conditioning unit, so can bugs).
Next, I decided to watch a little TV. When I turned it on, the picture was visible only on the upper third of the screen. Called the front desk clerk who walked me through the process of unlocking the TV with a code on the remote. Didn't work. Tried another code. Still didn't work. Maintenance had to fix the TV.
Found the mini-fridge right next to the bathroom. Upon opening the fridge door, I discovered that, just like the A/C, the fridges are turned off in between guests (well, turned down to the lowest possible setting). Took a while for my sodas to get cold, but when they did, they were icy - just like I like 'em!
Other stuff I discovered: Had to hold the toilet handle down for 20-30 seconds for effective flushing to take place. Also, no pen or pad in the room. That was a first for me. I thought EVERY hotel and motel had a pen and paper somewhere in the room. Last, but not least, was the plastic liner for the ice bucket. The bucket was of the typical squared-off shape; the plastic liner was... not. It was shaped like a cylinder. Wouldn't fit any ice bucket I've ever seen in my life.
All that said, it was certainly not the worst motel experience I've ever had. They DID give me the discount coupon rate, the room DID cool down quickly once I turned the A/C on, my sodas DID get icy cold, maintenance DID fix my TV promptly, and on the second day I DID get a plastic liner designed to fit my ice bucket. Can't say I'd recommend the place, but you could certainly do worse.
