My husband and I stayed here on June 21, and 22nd 2008. The shuttle bus was about the only good thing. A.C. didnt work, hair in the food at the buffet breakfast and spiders in the room. Truth be told that wasn't even the problem to me. This was more like a motel feel than a Hotel. It almost seemed like a motel 8 that you would stop in from a long day of driving. I would pass this if someone is looking for a truly nice hotel, especially in the city center. It most defintelty is not a hotel experience, so if you rather not stay at a motel, than pass this one up.

We stayed here 2 days. We booked this hotel because we could not find a room in Ljubljana center. The hotel is modern and attractive, and is associated with a conference center. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is located just off the highway that circles Ljubljana several miles from the city center. We had a rental car. The location of this hotel has several advantages: it is very easy to find; and if you plan an excursion(s)outside the city center, it takes minutes to get onto the highway. The disadvantage is that you are not near the city center. They do provide a free shuttle into the city which runs hourly, and we did make good use of it, eating downtown rather than in the hotel. While I would have preferred to stay in the city center, my experience at the Mons was overall quite positive.

It was our first trip to Slovenia, and we loved it so much, we have been back since!
The hotel is outside the city centre but had a good and reliable shuttle bus service into town. The shuttlebus driver, (who was also the bell boy) Vladimir, was friendly, lively and chatty, and full of useful information about Slovenia.
The hotel itself is well built and pleasant. There is a little market stall sttle restaurant in the basement, you basically walk around and choose the food you want from the various stalls, and then pay for what you have. We had two meals there and enjoyed them immensely.
The air conditioning was not working when we were there and we had to change rooms, moving away from the side that was next to the motorway and to the other side which looked out into the woodland, so that we could have the windows open.
It was a pleasant stay in a nice hotel, and the staff were great

The Mons is situated on the edge of Ljubljana in lovely wooded surroundings. It is a modern hotel and is well designed and laid out.
Check-in was fine, they let us have our room early (about midday).
The room was excellent as should be expected from a nearly new hotel. The minibar was well stocked and room service was very good (and good value!). The bathroom and shower were beautifully clean and modern. The hotel's guide folder in the room explained everything perfectly.
The hotel has two restaurants, one a quite expensive a la carte affair, the other is a self service cafeteria downstairs (which reminded my partner of IKEA!). Although we didn't eat in the hotel (other than snacks via room service) the facilities looked fine. Breakfast was excellent.
The downside is the shuttle bus service to Ljubljana centre. We waited in the lobby for the 2pm bus, only for the driver to arrive late (about 2.30pm) then just drive off without asking if anyone was waiting!
In fairness to the desk staff, on complaining about this they arranged for a taxi to take us straight to the city centre at their cost. This was a nice touch after the misunderstanding.
Note that you must tell the desk staff that you wish to use the shuttle bus or you may sit there all afternoon. We did feel very silly! But the staff resolved the situation and we laughed about it with them.
The bus was on time picking us up from Ljubljana centre in the evening.
The hotel allowed us to stay an extra hour or so without charge on our day of check-out.
Overall this is a very nice hotel and although it is not in the city centre it is a lovely countryside location (apart from the motorway adjoining!) and is very easy to reach the centre by shuttle bus or taxi!
