My husband and I spent 3 nights at the Maya at the beginning of July. We booked our room online and as we were staying more than 2 nights automatically got upgraded to a Junior Suite.
Although, we weren't blessed with a view of the Petronas Towers (we were on the other side of the building facing the Telecom tower), the views and sunsets were still terrific. Even though the hotel is geared more towards the business traveller as such, it is still a perfect location and destination for those wanting a convenient, comfortable and value for money KL hotel.
The fact that you are a stones throw (all of 2-300 metres) from the stunning Petronas Towers and between a monorail station and an underground train station - both less than 5 minutes walk away, is just terrific.
As noted the breakfast is very good, the staff are polite and efficient and the rooms are very generously proportioned with very spacious bathrooms. Whilst we aren't coffee drinkers, there was also a beaut espresso machne in our room too..
Try the hotel's brasserie either for buffet lunch or dinner. It's wonderfully fresh and brilliant value. All in all a wonderful hotel that we'll happily return to.

Of course we were priviliged to get an upgrade, when we arrived at 1.30 am, but so was the whole hotel as compared to our already high expectations.
I have been thinking to keep this hotel (within 300m from the KL Towers) a secret to ourselves, but that is not fair towards the management and the staff that went out of their way to give us a pleasant stay. Complimentary WiFi is another boon. Unfortunately the guests do not use the lobby bar too much, but the sight from the 13th floor over KL is splendid.
Breakfast is superb for this price range.
Try it out, bit keep it a secret.

This is an absolutely gorgeous hotel situated very close to the Petronas Towers and the convenient monorail. We booked over the net for a studio room, which was automatically upgraded to a junior suite. On arrival at the hotel, a smiling and helpful receptionist advised us that we would be upgraded to a deluxe suite facing the Petronas towers, which was most welcome! We didn't have any problems with rude staff, in fact, they were all very accomodating. The hotel itself is an oasis, and the brekky (included in the price of the room) is fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel. It was so lovely that we didn't want to leave it...!
