My husband and I just returned home from Xaloc Resort. Pros: The staff were very welcoming upon arrival and during our stay. Gulf waters were very warm with gentle waves so that you could safely swim; and, the beach sand was soft. Cons: Cleanliness: Especially the bed sheets, pillow cases, and, toilet in the bungalow. The bed sheets and pillow cases were never changed during our stay and the toilet always had a foul smell to it even though it had been supposedly cleaned by the staff. Critters crawling on the floor and in the mosquito netting around the bed after the cleaning staff had already tended to the room. A bungalow directly across from ours had to be fumigated at the guests' request due to insect bites. Quality of the bed and bed linens: The bed was very, very firm and the bed linens were very rough and itchy against the skin, although this could also be due to the fact that the bedsheets were not changed and washed during our stay. Two of the three pillows were just as firm as the bed and the third pillow was so soft that all you could feel was the firmness of the two firm pillows. Privacy: Our bungalow had the resort's only public shower attached to it on the outside so privacy was very limited as there was a steady stream of guests coming from the beach and stopping at the public shower - some couples even taking glamour shots of each other while using the public shower! The public shower also cut into our water supply in our shower and sink as some times when we were washing up the water supply was non existent because someone was using the public shower. Food: The food at the hotel restaurant was okay but disappointing, especially the guacamole, which was very, very bland.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this resort. Beautiful, peaceful and one of the most memorable vacations we've had so far. If you stay over Christmas, make sure to join the party in the city square. Salsaing outside at 2am on Christmas Eve is something I will never forget. The staff was super-attentive, the rooms spacious and nice. As we live in Chicago, these complaints of no privacy seem ridiculous to me and I had trouble getting used to the lack of people around.

We just returned from a week at the Xaloc Resort on Holobox Island in Mexico. It was one of our best vacations ever. The staff at Xaloc was absolutely wonderful. They treated us royally! We felt we made some wonderful new friends. Evan, David, and Francesco went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable. They prepared special meals, romantic dinners, and delicious drinks. We very much enjoyed the tour of the island by golf cart, the bird island cruise, and the beautiful beach! We were swimming in the water every day! I had read that moquitos might be a problem but I saw only one mosquito our entire stay. There were no bugs! It was an absolutely delightful experience.

Stayed 5 nights in December at the hotel in Bungalow 9 in adult area, hotel overall is okay but some things should be more standardized such as cleaning in the sleeping room, every day was done differently, also the breakfast is never the same, you order the same thing and get a different thing every day. Bungalows are too close together, a bit noisy, especially ours which is 5 ft from a road where there are go golf carts going by. One morning we did not have hot water, toilet got stuck, very dark in the rooms and a bit stuffy.
