We stayed here for 1 night and did not enjoy it at all.
A jack hammer was going all day from 8am till 5.30pm right next door to our room..the reception manager was unfriendly and arrogant and no one helped with our bags to the room.
the room was ok but basic,,the bathroom was large and quite good and very clean.
the breakfast was apparently available but you had to pay extra for just about everything on the buffet..why include it.
also there was an unfriendly over efficient manger/waiter
watching eveything we did to kae sure we did not eat what was not alowed that made us feel uncomfortable.
The hotel is way over priced for the service provided and a rip off.

Booked through cities direct, great deal, 3 nights for price of 2!
The hotel was fantastic value, short walk to main attractions which meant you could see a lot of interest as you ambled into town. The hotel staff very friendly and extremely helpful, even provided nibbles in the bar every evening!! The outlandish "Retro" decor is a delight!! Good value, good fun and well worth a visit if on a budget that does not allow for full blown decadence in a city as pricey as Milan!

Nothing wrong with this hotel (if you discount a broken hairdryer) but do not expect to be blown away by the stunning interior decor. While the bar area was nice the room was not.
I was expecting bright and bold but we got a room with a green rectangle painted onto a cotton-blue wall. It looked like it could have been done by a friend of the manager on his/ her day off.
Other than the complete lack ofa promised statement, it was ok. The front desk staff were particularly helpful but the whole place just lacked a little pizzazz.
Quite close to the train station but maybe a little far away from the centre or perhaps a better way of putting it is that if you don't fancy the walk then take the metro/ tram.

Cool modern design, excellent rooms, convenient to train station/airport shuttle

As an architect, I really enjoyed the design and space of Hotel Mediolanum. The hotel has been recently renovated into a sleek modern boutique-style hotel. The design of the public spaces and the room was contemporary and very nice. The neighborhood does not have a lot of outdoor restaurant/cafe activity (actually we found most of Milan did not have a lot of gastronomic outdoor activity), so we had a bit of a difficult time finding a non-hotel restaurant which looked interesting within walking distance. The neighborhood was pleasant enough, fairly quiet and about a 25-minute walk to the historic centre. It is located an 8-minute walk to the train station, convenient for rail travel or to catch the shuttle bus (just outside the train station) to Malpensa airport.
We arrived on the train late in the evening to find that Hotel Mediolanum did not have a room for us the first night, even though we had already paid for the room for 2 nights. They nonchalantly sent us in a taxi to their sister property (Hotel Sampi) a few blocks away. Although that hotel was fine--perhaps built/renovated in the 80s and of 3-star quality, and the room had 2 single beds--it definitely was not quite as nice as the 4 star Mediolanum. They have breakfast at both hotels, which is a nice touch.
We asked to be transferred back to Hotel Mediolanum for the second night. Upon checking back in, the front desk was very apologetic about the first night and gave us an upgraded room with a king-sized bed for the second night. The upgraded room and the bathroom at Mediolanum were very nice and of 4-star quality. I liked the 2 new double-paned wood windows in the room and miminalist colorful decor. We enjoyed our second night at Mediolanum very much. Would recommend.
Loved it!!!!!

I stayed at the Mediolanum back in July and had a fantastic experience. It's very central, from the airport we got the shuttle to the central station and the hotel it literally a 3 mins walk. We found the hotel to be clean, with a modern interior. Our room was spacious and tastfully decorated. It's also in a great location just a few blocks from one of the main shopping streets, which was our main reason for going, however by following this shopping street you will get to the duomo, which is an absolute MUST when going to Milan. There was no resturaunt in the hotel which was a bit of a shame, but there is a sushi bar right next to it and a lovely italian a fewf blocks away. We went over a weekend and found a lot of resturaunts to be closed on the sat and sun nights, dont know if it was the time of year we visited, July is hot so maybe they close in the summer. Staff we very helpfull and breakfast was lovely. All in all i would definitley stay here if I ws to visit Milan again.
