Eine Nacht im Michelangelo
Guest name: Anonymous

I visited Dusseldorf to watch a musical and stayed at the Hotel Michelangelo so I wouldn't have to drive 2 hours back home late at night. I'm quite glad I stayed. The man at reception was courteous and kind and greeted me with a smile. Check in was remarkably quick and I was in my room within 5 minutes of walking in.
The room was spotlessly clean and overlooked Rosstrasse (the main street in front of the hotel). Despite being on a busy road we were not bothered at all by any noise. We had a twin room which was quaintly decorated and spacious. I am extremely fussy about clean bathrooms and the room bathroom was sparkling clean and shiny.
The hotel is close enough to the city center without being in the middle of all the chaos. I had a car so I didn't get to use the public transportation but it only took 4 minutes to get to the theater. Parking wasn't a problem. I was able to park directly in front of the hotel on arrival, however, after returning from the theater I had to park behind the hotel in the residential area. No problem there as it's just around the corner.
Breakfast was a decent selection of breads, cheeses, fruit, coffee, sliced meats, juices, and jams. What made it great was the staff. I hate that I forgot his name but he was the same man from reception the day before. He showed us to our table and was again courteous, helpful, and kind.
I go to Dusseldorf often for the theater and the next time I am there I will absolutely stay at this hotel again!

Good European Hotel

This is a fine European hotel.
The rooms are functional, and had better wi-fi internet access than some newer properties.
Some refurbishing of rooms could be done, with an upgrade to bed types. Bring your own toiletries, since hand and bath soap are both wall-mounted pump type.
Breakfast is quite good. There is also a nice bakery next door, for an afternoon treat.
As mentioined in other reviews, free chits are provided for train transfers to various parts of the city. Stops are within walking distance.
The hotel does have car parking for a limited number of vehicles and at a cost.

Gutes europäisches Hotel
Guest name: Anonymous

My husband and I wanted to spend only a couple of days in Duesseldorf, but then decided to stay longer- it was no hassle and no problem.
The hotel is very nice and the staff very friendly, everyone helped us out and gave us tips and directions. Also, with the room price you get a ticket for the public transportation which comes in very handy since buying the tickets can add up to be expensive very quickly.
The rooms are very clean and comfortable. They are not as big as your common hotel room in the US, but do not feel tiny and crammed at all.
Did I mention the awesome breakfast yet? They offer several types of bread and rolls... a lot of different cheeses and sandwich meats- we were in heaven! They did not offer too much of a "hot" breakfast but some scrambled eggs, but keep in mind that eating a hot breakfast is not common in Germany. I grew up in Germany and found the breakfast very very elaborate.
The location is also great, it is not directly in the city so you can get away from the Altstadt, but it is within a short walking distance from many different subways, trains, and buses which will bring you in any direction you want.
If you have a rental car you will have to do some driving around before you find a parking spot, but we always found a place within a couple minutes not too far away from the hotel.
I would always stay here again!
