I was there twice, in December 2005 and December 2006. In 2005, we had a very clean, nice room, a bit small. We had a hard time with the cleaning lady, every day, she was leaving the room window open. So at night, when we came back, the room was bloody cold. After four times explaining to the front desk, we finally got a room that was warm with the windows closed. Breakfast is expansive. Despite that, great room.
In December 2006, we had the ''honeymoon room''. They had upgraded us. Big big room, beautiful bathroom and warm. We really loved it.
My mom was there in October 2007 and everything was perfect.
Nice and friendly people at reception.
I recommend it and I would go back at the Chariot.

A very clean and welcoming hotel - rooms on the road side of the hotel are bigger but noisier - those at the back are more 'cosy' but very quiet. Large bathroom with shower. Large TV, plenty of wardrobe space for a weekend break and a really, really large and comfortable bed. Also the bedside tables were large. Made it a bit difficult to get up in the morning. Unfortunately the local public transport is poor so getting into Amsterdam was quite slow and costly. However breakfast was very good with a very attentive smiley guy on hand to meet our every need.
It just needs moving closer to the city ......

I spent the week in the Netherlands with my son visiting relatives and seeing the sights. I booked the Hotel Chariot based on price, and the promise of a free shuttle to and from Schiphol Airport. This was our last night in the Netherlands, and we had an early flight in the morning. This hotel is way out in the middle of nowhere, and almost impossible to find. We arrived by automobile, but after about an hour of searching, my cousin gave up trying to find it, and dropped us off at the airport. I called the hotel to have the free shuttle pick us up, but was told that it was not available. They called a taxi, and we paid the driver 17.50 Euro for the trip. It was about 6:00 PM, so I did not think it was unreasonable to expect the shuttle to operate at this hour. They seemed to think that offering a free shuttle to the airport in the morning was enough, and refused any other accommodation for our added expense. Despite the hotel’s remote location, we found the Eetcafe T Farregat across the street was open until 10:00PM, and offered good service and unremarkable food, including vegetarian options, at average Dutch restaurant prices. We asked for a wake up call in the morning. Luckily we woke up on time, because they never did call us. To our surprise, the free shuttle showed up on time and took us to the airport as agreed. With some improvements in service, I could recommend this hotel, but I will not be staying there again myself.
