A great value for Munich and the high Euro. Rooms are nicely furnished, hotel staff is helpful, breakfast is fantastic and the inner courtyard is a delight. Nothing extravagant (except the breakfast) but all nicely done and well tended to. Good location - close to VirtualMarket and Marienplatz. Free WIFI as well. No A/C.

We have just stayed for a long weekend at the Admiral Hotel.
It is most certainly not a cheap option but I would still rate it as good value for money. The staff and owner are very helpful and friendly, the rooms a reasonably sized, comfortable and very clean. The cold breakfast buffet is exceptional. The buffet is kept fully stocked riight up to the end of service.
The hotel is not air conditioned and may possibly get hot in mid-summer. There is also some noise from the road, but we did not find this a problem even when sleeping with window open.
We can also recommend the"7 Fishes" restaurant about five minutes walk away, again not cheap but excellent food and atmosphere.

We stayed at the Hotel Admiral in Munich. The hotel is lovely and the staff is very professional. It is a great location, practically next door to the Deutsches Museum and close to the Isator S-Bahn station (we took the S8 from the Airport to Isator and walked the few blocks to the hotel - very easy) and other public transportation. Also, the hotel is definitely within easy walking distance to all the major sites in the downtown old city area.
We arrived early in the morning, at 10am, and were immediately checked into the hotel, which we really appreciated!!
The rooms are comfortable and well appointed. We found the beds and pillows to be very comfortable.
The breakfast buffet, which was included in the price of our room, was wonderful. Lots of fresh fruit and juices. They go out of their way to include unusual items such as figs, candied fruit and homemade jams.
We especially enjoyed meeting the spaniels who hang out at the hotel -- Anton and Paula.
The hotel staff was exceptionally professional and eager to assist in any way.
Overall, we rate this hotel very highly and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in Munich.

The hotel has a good location on a side street in an upscale neighborhood. It is within walking distance of many of the Munich sites so you don't need a car. While most of the staff was engaging and helpful, the front desk clerk when we checked in around Noon was unfriendly and rather gruff. I had requested a room off the street but was told in no uncertain terms that only rooms facing the street were available. I recommend to anyone planning to stay at this hotel to request a room off the street! It can be quite noisy. The rooms are average, nothing fancy. But the hotel does have wireless internet access throughout which was a plus! Breakfast was great and the hotel staff was accomodating with good restaurant recommendations.

This hotel is situated in a nice location near "Deutsches Museum", "Viktualienmarkt" and in a walking distance from the centre. The brekfast is good but not abounding.
The rooms are quite dated. In addition to that my room had somewhat of a dusty smell to it and the curtain's didn't work in order to keep the street lights out by night...
For the money paid I would definitely expect more from a hotel... but there is definitely worse in Munich.
