I was very glad to choose this charismatic hotel in a perfect location just a few steps from the Charles Bridge. The breakfast was delicious and the renewed rooms fit beautifully in the historic building. I was especially happy with the staff who was always willing to help. I honestly recommend this charming hotel for all future visitors of Prague.

RECOMMENDED. As others have noted, this hotel in an excellent location for all things tourist. Prague is generally a safe city at all hours. Staff were quite friendly and helpful. Free and speedy wi-fi on lobby bar. Bedding was perfect, clean and we slept well. Bathroom was newly renovated and all tile. Breakfast (incl’d in our rate) was perfect - cereal, coffee and a piece of toast – fine.

We have returned from a 4 night stay at the Charles hotel in Prague and I have nothing bad to say about it. The location is fantastic, very central in the Old Town Square. The rooms are great, clean & very spacious.
A buffett breakfast is very good - lots fresh bread, eggs, sausages, fruit etc & the staff were only too happy to help if anything else was required.
It really is a lovely hotel in what I consider to be the best location in the city.
A lot of tours start from just outside the hotel, horse & carriage rides are directly outside also. There are many bars & restaurants in the square.
I would strongly recommend this hotel to anyone!

Stayed here at the beginning of July for three nights.
First impressions were very good. We booked through hotels.com and received confirmation and emails beforehand. The hotel even arranged transport from the airport, which was fairly cheap and only took about 25 minutes.
Location wise, the hotel is on the west side of the Charles Bridge in the Lesser Quarter. It is literally a 2 minute walk, if that, to the bridge. Excellent for getting your bearings when you first arrive. Unfortunately the location meant there was a jazz bar and a club next door which played loud music and let out the noisy lager louts at 4am. Also listening to the dustbin men at 7am was not pleasant as well as the drilling of the restoration of the Charles Bridge which starts at 8am. Seriously. (Although i may add this only bothered me 1 night as i was so exhausted the rest of the time!)
We had booked 2 double rooms and 1 single. I had the single room which ironically, was the best out of the three of them! I had a massive king-sized bed in my room, the same as the others but was charged a single rate. All rooms had two chairs, a table, wardrobe, tv, mini-bar fridge and a safety deposit box.
My bathroom was very clean. There was even shampoo, shower cap, soap, tissues and a hair-dryer provided. I was disappointed i didn't have a shower, there was only a bath and my sisters room had this also. So a quick shower in the morning was a no-no. But it was clean.
Some annoying things about our rooms were the standard really. My sisters hair-dryer didn't work properly and was dangerously taped together with selotape. In my parents room the wardrobe door had come off its hinges and was just sitting there. The beds were okay but you only had one very thin pillow which was very uncomfortable. The mini-bar fridge in my parents room didn't even work so getting a cold drink quickly on a boiling hot day (which it was, very) was not possible. Reception didn't seem to care. Also the lights only worked when you put the key card in a slot on the wall. The key-card was attached to the keyring, so at night when my family knocked at my door, i had to try to open the door in the dark. We figured out the slot is a sensor, so just put a piece of card in there and the lights will still work! Magic!
One good point about the hotel was that breakfast is included. The room is in the basement, a dark, oppressive room which is uninviting but what do you want really?! There was fresh coffee, all kinds of teas, wholemeal/white bread, rolls, ham, cheese, jams, 4 different cereals, 4 different juices. Everything was laid out buffet style and a man was there if you needed anything topped up.
As a group we debated about the hotel staff. One lady who was on reception all day was fairly helpful to us when we asked about trams and such. The man on reception in the evening was really quite annoying and fake, just looking for a tip, which we don't like. (Oh yes, beware in Prague the waiters etc...have no shame in asking for a tip and will even come back to your table if they don't think what you've given is enough!!)
Overall, the hotel was okay. Despite the noise (which in a city is bloody expected!!) the location was excellent, within walking distance to the Old Town and everything. The rooms, although needing upkeep, had everything I needed to rest my weary body. Plus breakie was included. Okay, it needs a bit of work but it's getting there.

Great room on 4th floor, very friendly helpful staff. The receptionists were helpful providing maps and info as needed. Breakfast was very good, staff very helpful.
Large room that was well furnished, and comfy - kig size bed as opposed to the norm. Excellent location - only 5 minutes walk to all the main attractions. Lovely and clean hotel. Our room was very spacious and comfortable.
Everything in easy walking distance 10 minutes or so to the castle 10 minutes to the old town square. Liked Prague as a city to walk round - nice human scale city. This is one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in.
Overall a great hotel - we'd definitely stay again if we returned to Prague.
