I stayed at the Sonesta Port Said during last August.
This was my 4th visit to the hotel as my company has a corporate deal with Sonesta Egypt.
The hotel has done a lot of renovation in its second floor rooms, and now the rooms are truly a good product specially the sea view rooms.
Food in the Italaian restaurant was of superb quality.

Well Port said is a nice looking and Interesting Cosmopolitan harbor with a great market and bazaar area BUT unfortunately also a TOTALY Dirty (as city) place!!!
This luck of “tidiness” limited my overall impression from there.
Spend my time there in Port Said Sonesta Hotel a just above average 4 Stars with the basics (secured with a pool efficient room service good restaurant).
Only minus in the hotel was the absolute lack of a POOL BAR.
Generally 3 memorable days there because of friends in the area!

One of the few acceptable hotel options one has in Port Said, Sonesta is located right at the Mediterranean-side entrance to the Suez Canal. Canal view rooms offer truly excellent views of ships entering the waterway, but they are rather poorly kept. Carpets have really outlived their usage, blankets are old, bathrooms need to be refurbished and shower drains were clogged in both rooms we were given. To make things worse, the plumbing expertise of the housekeeping technician was at best ineffective. At least, the reception staff was friendly and ready to offer new rooms, which however did not have canal views. Overall, a very mediocre experience.
