Awful in any sense of the word. I have visited a number of Melia Hotels both in business trips and for leisure, and without no doubt, this is the worst of them all. It wasn’t exactly my preference choice, as I plan the trip very short in advance, being the only available for my required dates. Saying so, it is selling as a “beautiful, boutique hotel, centrally located” None of the above turned to be true. I have a superior room. Huge, but decorated in such a way that you feel lost and sad. Lighting was terrible, even with all lamps switched on you rather are able to read the paper. Old-fashioned, badly maintenance pieces of furniture, tacky bed linen and curtains, seventy’s style bathroom, dirty fitted carpet. Elevator was so narrow; there is only space for 1 person and 1 piece of luggage. You feel claustrophobic!!! Don’t go. It is a waste of money

From start to finish this the worst hotel I have ever been in. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful. The rooms were not kept up well and the so called air condition never worker properly. I am sure there are much better hotels in the area for the same price. If you are planning a trip to Paris do not stay at this hotel.

As part of the Melia chain, I expected something better. I have stayed at various other Melia establishments, both in Spain and abroad, specifically two hotels they have in Paris (Vendome and Colbert), which are far better. This one was within walking distance of the venue of a conference I was attending the next day, that was the reason for my choice.
The fist "shock" was the exceptionally narrow lift - it is about 120cm wide by some 50 cms deep. Very strange and off putting, to say the least!
The room I had booked was a junior suite - as soon as I walked into the room I Ithought "what a mistake". The room was large but the decor very jaded and shabby, with stains on the carpet and the chairs, bedside table with drink stains, etc. Next was the bathroom - clean enough but cold and no heating anywhere! Also, when I the used the shower the next morning, a pool of water appeared in the middle of the bathroom - the perspex glass hinged door obviously didn't close properly. I had to clean this with the only hand towel I had been given.
There was another additional room, on the right of the entrance as you walked in. Thinking this was some kind of lounge room (remember, this was a junior suite) I opened the door. To my horror I found a tiny roll out bed (about 70 cm wide by about 150 cm long, obviously ONLY for kids), no window, no furniture, except for a chair and a small lamp. It looked like a room in a hostel, it was so depressing!
The main bedroom room gave out onto the street (Avenue Victor Hugo) and at night I was awoken various times by the street cleaners, with their small vehicles, noisy engines and brushes.
Finally, the breakfast. It was more than acceptable by French standards (i.e. not just a croissant and coffee, rather a fairly full buffet, with fresh fruit, juices, cereals, cold meats, yoghurts, bread, buns, coffee, teas, etc etc).
Overall I would NEVER go back there again. I was rather taken aback - in general I have found the Melia chain to be fairly reliable but this was a let down.

We booked this hotel for a weekend in Paris. It's a small but cute hotel. Very well located, near Victor Hugo metro station and the Champs Elis?es. You can also go walking to Eiffel Tower from the hotel.
The carpet, furniture and rooms are a bit oldish style, the room and specially the bathroom was maybe a little small. But still enough for a rest.
Our room had a window view to a patio, but a nice one.
The breakfast buffet was excellent and the staff very friendly.
We are Spaniards and the hotel property is now Spanish. For that reason we found the staff trying all to communicate with us in Spanish. Nice detail also.
No bad surprises at all.
