Its a great choice, the location is very central the metro is literaly at the front door.
The rooms are very small but very clean. The breakfast is the best I had in 3 star hotels, the internet connection does not work on weekends and i didnt understand how to use it on work days.
The staff are great.
For a 3 star hotel its quite nice and clearly above average.

My wife and I stayed at the Tryp Francois from April 27th to May 3rd 2008. While it is a small hotel and not very luxurious, we had absolutely no complaints about the hotel or staff. It is spotlessly clean, efficient, centrally located (The Grands Boulevards Metro station is six paces from the front door), and well-run. We found the staff to be courteous and helpful and were very pleased with the quality of the buffet breakfast they served - good and varied fresh choices. Our room faced onto Boulevard Montmartre which can be noisy from all the traffic, but we found that the modern windows at the Tryp Francois shielded us from much of this. There are good cafes and restaurants close by, as well as many nice areas to go shopping.
We had an excellent time in Paris and the Tryp Francois played a big part in forming that impression. I would go back to the Tryp Francois again and again.

I book through the sol melia hotel chain website;sometimes there are very discounted hotel rates, mine was a 50% off for two nights. With this price the hotel was a very good value, our room was in the third floor, all non smoking, average size, big bathroom, all very clean.
With windows at Boulevard Montmartre, the nights are noisy, so I need the earplugs.
Breakfast is expensive for what you get,but If you are member of MAS,the sol melia fidelity card, the first person pays, the second is free. Many people from Spain,so noisy.
Tiny reception area, but check in and out very quickly. All staff very courteous
Location excellent,a short stroll from Charles de Gaulle bus stop in Opera, many restaurants and bars in the vicinity.Good crepes at the door. The room service is from Pizza Hut.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Tryp Francois for three nights, early Dec '07. It was easy to find- we walked from the Roissy bus stop at Opera which took around ten minutes (I recommend getting this bus from the airport- very easy!)- and check-in was simple. The staff were helpful and their english was good. The hotel is situated right next to a metro stop so it is perfect for hopping on the metro and seeing all the Parisian sights. There is an Irish bar next door and a wealth of restaurants down the road, including a nice little veggie cafe which does a good, cheap coffee & croissant deal in the mornings (as we did not have breakfast at the hotel).
The hotel itself is basic- just like a british holiday inn/ travelodge. The room was small but that is to be expected of rooms in the centre of Paris, it was however very clean and the bathroom was spotless with a powerful shower. The room did smell slightly but I think this is due to lack of air in the hotel. Our room had an awful view of the other rooms & some industrial style pipes. One evening we came back to find that our key card didn't work but this was soon sorted out and we were given another key. The room had a hairdryer and safe which was handy.
All in all it was an ok hotel as a place to sleep but not as a place to spend much time in. Also if you don't like lifts I'd ask for a room on a lower floor as the lifts looked tiny- like little cupboards!
