Eighteen golfers stayed here during the last week of April 2008. Some would have liked single rooms but the supplement was double the sharing rate, very expensive. The rooms were adequate if somewhat small. We were playing golf around mid-day each day so breakfast was around 8.30- 9 am. It was a a bit of an ordeal as cutlery and delph were sometimes scarce and one had to go looking for spoons and cereal bowls in particular most mornings. Also muesli ran out on a couple of mornings and no more was available. Tea could take 15 minutes to arrive.
The staff in the bar were great especially the lady with the young children who was not used to the one or two late nights at the bar. Parking in the undergound car park for our 9 seaters was not on - headroom too low - so we parked right outside the hotel without any problems.
The hotel was well situated for getting to the golf courses and the staff at reception were helpful with directions. We could walk to town at night in 15 minutes and if you wanted to eat out you had to go to the city centre for a restaurant.
Restaurants do not open until 8 or 8.30 pm which was a bit late for us and also the shops are all closed on Sunday (our day off golf!) We were travelling back on the 1st May and this was a holiday and again all the shops were closed. However the cafes were open in the old part of the city which is well worth a visit.
Overall average because of the poor service at breakfast and the cost of the single supplement.

Stayed here for a short break in Jan and the hotel was nice, however it was really more for business use. The town is a 15minute walk so was ok during the day but when heading out for dinner always had to get a taxi, which was not ideal. The room was clean and pleasant but nothing outstanding. If visiting Girona I would recommend a more central hotel to the attractions.

Das Sol Melia Girona ist ein Hochhaus, verfügt über eine Tiefgarage, die Zimmer sind gut und gemütlich/gediegen ausgestattet. Das Personal an der Rezeption war sehr freundlich, der Check-In war schnell erledigt. Der Weg zum Bahnhof war zu Fuß mit Koffer ein bisschen lang. In unmittelbarer Nähe des Hotels befindet sich das Kaufhaus El Corte Ingles. Auch in die wunderschöne Altstadt von Girona muss man ein Stückchen laufen, wenn man gut zu Fuß ist, ist das aber kein Problem. Wir haben uns im Sol Melia sehr wohlgefühlt. Die Zimmer waren sauber. Kaffee/Tee konnte man auf dem Zimmer selbst zubereiten.

The Hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the old town and its attractions. The staff were very helpful. The room was really nice and the bathroom fantastic with every extra you could imagine.
We stayed for three nights and had a fabulous time. The breakfast was plentiful with both hot and cold buffet. The hotel bar prices were very reasonable too. All in all would return to the hotel. Beware though, on Sundays there is very little to do as all the shops are closed - usual though for Spain.
