This hotel is in a good central position about 5 minute easy walk from the railway station and buses to the airport.
The rooms are clean and spacious with a mini bar but no tea/coffee making facilities. The baths could be difficult to get in and out of as they are quite high.
You need your room keycard to go up to the rooms via the lift as the lift won't work until the keycard has been inserted.
Breakfasts were good though we noticed there was more choice at the weekend.
The reception staff were very polite and helpful.

The price was good , the room clean and quiet, but the view from the window wasn't that good.
The TV has even a channel from my country (not so common in Finlad )
The breakfast (I only have sweet brekfast if you ask) was good even tough there were no cappuccino or espresso but still ok

Stayed at the Sokos Hotel Presidentti for a week in late November/early December, 2007. Rooms were fine and spacious enough. Bathtubs are difficult to get into and difficult to stand in. They would be difficult for disabled or elderly people. Staff is friendly and helpful, but the check in desk is a bit understaffed. Restaurant was good and the prices were reasonable. We ate there several times. Breakfast was included and had many items to choose from. I would stay here again, but would probably chose another hotel if the price was comparable.

We stayed 2 nights. The lobby/ reception must have been renovated because it is all sparkling new, and when you go upstairs to the room, it is something else. There was a stale smell as we left the lift and walked to our room on the 4th floor. We had a corner room so there were windows on 2 sides of the room which made the room bright, even though views outside the room ain't spectacular.
The bathroom is very small and every bathroom fixture is old - the toilet bowl, the bathtub, the shower screen, the sink, the water pipes (yes they are very visible)....
The room was too cold for us and when we asked, housekeeping came and did some adjustment to the room ventilation, and informed us that "if this doesn't help, then there is nothing I can do".
The hotel is very big and hence very busy. You queue to check-in, queue to check-out, queue for breakfast, etc.

I'm surprised to see this hotel rated as a three-stars! It was an almost royal place by my standards, for sure it was the most luxurious place I've ever stayed at. The only complaints I can think of are about the staff at the desk being too distant, and the location which doesn't offer great view but it _is_ downtown Helsinki and, hey, Helsinki is heavens! Sauna and pool quite ok. Rooms nicely decorated, meals and buffet _great_. Ah, there was also free wifi.
