Great Value, Under-rated Hotel

I stay at this hotel frequently when I visit Lansing for MSU football weekends. While this hotel is a bit of a drive from the MSU campus it is easily, IMO, the best hotel for the value in the area.
Pros
1. Nice, clean comfortable rooms - bedding is great.
2. Pool facility is nice for the kids
3. Indoor basketball hoop was a huge hit with my kids.
4. Inexpensive (usually get the hotel for under $100) and you get a lot for the money.
Cons
1. A bit of a drive to MSU campus but the hotel is very close to the main highway into town.
2. Hotel bar is on the small side.

The lobby is very pretty and they have a decent (but high priced for this area) bistro.
However, the rooms are unclean and generally nasty. Never look behind the TV or under the bed if you can help it! Also, if they overbook, they don't apologize, they just send you to another hotel. Will definitely not be back.

Nice Hotel - But horrifying Experience
Guest name: spenserh, michigan
Upon arriving into the room and entering the bathroom - dirty underwear was found. After that nasty experience, we checked the beds that were not changed and hair and skin flakes were found in the bed - the tube wasn't cleaned. We called the front desk and they gave us another room - no discount, etc.. and the room they gave us was the room next door. I would not let the manager leave until he checked the beds, ect. in the morning I saw the cleaning staff and how young they were and you get the rest of the story. I felt that we should have received a free room, upgrade, etc. for the nasty underwear that was found - but that did not happen, I would have left but my businsess associate did not want to make a scene! Beware.
Loved the Sheraton in Lansing.

Very nice, polite and welcoming front desk staff. The restaurant is excellent with good service. The bed was extremely comfortable. The room was fairly standard size but well-appointed and clean. There are two computers with free internet in the lobby and ethernet cables in the room. There is a shuttle to the airport which is free. Swimming pool is small but adequate and the gym has everything you need. Overall, a very good stay. If you are staying in Lansing don't stay anywhere else!

I have stayed at the Sheraton several times and this time was no different - GREAT. It is a clean hotel with very friendly staff. It's close to MSU so when we go to a sporting event, we usually choose to stay here instead of driving the two hours home. Our room on the club level was equipped with a wet bar and refrigerator, and included evening snacks and continental breakfast. I enjoy this hotel and the location makes it easy to get to.
