Stayed here for 1 week beginning of July 2008. We stayed at the top floor. The hotel has got all it takes. Beautiful interior design, excellent service, conveniently located just beside the MRT station, at a short walk from Orchard Road and the Alliance Francaise. The breakfast buffet is as you would expect it in any upmarket hotel in Singapore: very copious, catering to all tastes and cultures. There are a few minor nuisances to mention: - The cornflakes at the breakfast buffet was quite flat and tasteless - The internet connection in the room is inconvenient - requires you to restart your computer several times before it works - and very expensive! - Don't go here for panoramic views: even from the top floor, all you see are cranes and construction sites. Then again, that's just Singapore I suppose.

Fine, a bit dated but very welcoming staff

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The room was fine a good size, comfortable bed (though not sweet sleeper) but generally the hotel was maybe a bit tired. The building works next door didn't seem to generate noise during our short stay (as with other review) but then we were there at a weekend. Overall it was an above average hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights stopping over in Singapore on a trip to the Middle and Far East. The rooms and public areas are getting a bit dated and are no longer any comparison to some of the new or more recently upgraded properties. But what did impress us was the very friendly and attentive service we experienced everywhere in the hotel, right from the minute we entered through to breakfast and maid service. Tis certainly did make the difference. With the convenient MRT station across the street you are minutes from anywhere on the island and I can recommend this hotel to anyone looking fo a convenient and friendly spot, whether for business or pleasure.
