Chennai is a fairly unremarkable city but the ITC Hotel Park Sheraton & Towers is an outstanding hotel.
Our room was on the executive club floor and it was modern, stylish, and had every amenity that you would expect in a five star hotel. Rooms on this floor also include afternoon cocktails and canapes in the Dubliner's bar, 4 pieces of laundry, and breakfast in Cappuccino Restaurant. As our stay was paid for using Starwood preferred guest all these extras were really great value.
The public areas of the hotel are beautiful and service varied from good to excellent. The large swimming-pool was a plus, as was the stylish lobby decorated with abstract act and Indian motifs.
All in all, I would not hesitate to stay at the first rate property again.

I have stayed at various Starwood hotels and resorts and found this one to be below their standard. I was traveling with my wife who had to come to Chennai for business. I am able to work from a remote location and coming from California, USA this was very remote. Also working from the hotel room allowed me to view how the staff cleaned our room. So first the good points, the room was average in size and nice looking and had nice desk to work from. The Internet access was good, fast and for a long stay was discounted. The bed was firmer that we are used to but was comfortable. There was an electric kettle in the room along with a French press so making tea or coffee was easy. Found the Italian restaurant to have good food and good service, we typically just ate the breakfast buffet there but after a couple of days they remembered that I like South Indian Coffee. Now to the bad - the room had a musty or moldy smell that others have also commented on. The room was never vacuumed, the tile was never mopped. The cups and glasses were not replaced but taken into the bathroom to be wiped cleaned only. The cost of everything there was overpriced for what it was, especially the laundry. We were traveling for 3 weeks (only stayed there 2 weeks gladly then moved to the Fisherman’s Cove, which was much better) and we packed light anticipating doing laundry but about 20 items of clothing cost 7700 INR or about $200 USD. Just t-shirts, underwear, pants nothing special and no dry-cleaning – granted it came back nicely packaged but WAY over priced for India. The food also was way over priced, although it was good but not spectacular and nowhere worth what was charged. If you do stay there I found out too late that there is a coffee shop a short distance away and they have good food for a reasonable cost.

Wow factor in Starwood Suites

Its not often I get a little “wow” when we’re on business trips and staying in Hotels. This one was an exception as we were upgraded to the Starwood floor in the tower block. Please note that this review is for this style room – not the standard room.
Staff were excellent, the room really well appointed complete with tiny little touches. An excellent mini-bar (which looked expensive), LCD TV and MASSIVE bed with a pillow selection. Sadly my colleague got a room which had a high humidity factor and damp bed (the staff promptly moved him).
The location of this hotel is brilliant and the beach is just down the road. The executive floor is good for an after work drink and a reasonable breakfast spread is put on in there – don’t expect a feast!
The hotel is undergoing an external makeover and I suspect the interior will be next for the towers in the future.
Pros: Worthwhile business hotel, attentive staff. Good Wireless Internet.
Cons: Tired interior in some parts

Not really five star...
Guest name: MaijaMatkaaja, Turku
As most "five star" hotels in India you don't really get what you expect from a Sheraton. The hotel is old and run down. I stayed at the hotel several times (unfortunately my company favours it) and each time the rooms smelled like mould, the ACs were noicy and once the toilet was leaking water onto the floor. Restaurants are average. Must say the pool area is nice! My recommendation if you want to stay in this area stay at the Raintree behind the corner!

I stayed here for three nights in August during my business trip to India. I stayed in "Ladies Only" section of the hotel, which had additional locked door into the hallway. The room was spacious and the bathroom was nicely stocked from hair care products to bath salt. Overall, the hotel was very clean. The hotel has several restaurants and shops, nice fitness center and a pool. I would stay at this hotel again if I visit Chennai in the future.
