I was in Jeddah for a 3 week+ project and stayed in the Sheraton. The hotel is one of the older properties in the city. The rooms are complete and have the comfortable sheraton sleeper bed, but they could do with a renovation. The main building rooms have a beautiful view over the garden and the Red Sea. Try to get one of these rooms, the annex rooms look over the car park or driveway and are smaller. Service in the hotel is very friendly, especially in the lounge and at reception where people recognized me after the first day.
But the best thing about this hotel is that it has a beach club where you can go on the day off. This has made all the difference to me, staying in the city for a longer period. The beach club has its own restaurant, seaside access and a sandy beach plus great snorkeling and diving. In a city like Jeddah that is starved for entertainment, being able to escape the city and be among friendly faces and expats enjoying themselves is of immense value. Ask the reception about the complimentary beach shuttle (the club is half an hour drive away).
In the hotel itself the Chinese has very good food and great views, the main buffet restaurant is only o.k. but sitting in the gardens with a huka is quite enjoyable after a long day at work. The small shopping centre next door also has some good fast food places including take away sushi and a starbucks with outside terrace.

I am actually sitting in my room in the Sheraton Jeddah as I am writing this review. I must say I am totally impressed after a disastrous experience at the Hilton (see my other review). Check in was efficient and friendly and my SPG entitlements were honored, plus I was upgraded to a large corner suite with an impressive view overlooking lots of greenery towards the Red Sea beyond (I had booked a club level room). The suite is very spacious with a large desk as well as a dining table. There is a very large walk in closet and a spacious bedroom with en-suite shower and bath, plus a separate bathroom for guests. The kitchenette seems a bit of an afterthought. Internet is certainly high speed, but as expensive as the other Saudi hotels I have used.
The hotel has a non-descript buffet restaurant but service was friendly and the food was good. Dinner was served on the large poolside terrace overlooking the gardens and the sea, which was nice. There is also a Chinese restaurant on the roof top. I have not had a look in the Club Lounge but it is available for Club and suite guests. The quiet elegance and friendly faces in this hotel are a relief after the stressful days and my experience in the Hilton which is just half a mile down the road. For a quality hotel in a good location away from the downtown mayhem, stay at the Sheraton.

This was the worst hotel i stayed in and definetly the worst sheraton and believe i've been in many!
Staff at the reciption are terrible, not friendly and have an attitude problem even when i told them that i'm facing problems they didnt care, things were lost from my room too.
I'm on a project in Saudi and didnt face this in sheraton Riyadh inspite staying there for four weeks, i was supposed to stay the amount of time in sheraton jeddah, but i only found this site while searching for a better hotel.
