We had stayed at Sheraton Porto for 2 nights (7->9 June). Our room was at 11th floor (Club room) , good room with great view over the city, and 32'' Plasma TV (very important to see Portugal in Euro 2008 ) . We have access to Club Lounge (drinks and some food on the house, 24h), also included was the parking which normally costs 18eur a day..the only complaine was the extra cash for the swiming pool (10eur per person/day) and drink's price. The food is excellent.
Anyone who visits Porto must do the Cruise over Douro River, it's beautiful.

Very modern Hotel set in the Business district of Porto.
Rooms were excellent and TV had over 50 stations including many english speaking ones. Free internet access in Lobby.Food was very good but a little pricey. Thats what you expect in a 5 star hotel though. Lots of helpful staff.
Whilst they have a wonderful Spa and indoor pool you do miss an outdoor pool especially in hot weather. |Not suitable for families either.

We stayed at the Sheraton Porto May 5-6 and had an awful experience. Although the hotel looked new and modern, the quality is very poor and service extremely rude.
The room we stayed in had bad air conditioning which started to blow hot air in the middle of the night and by morning our room was intolerably hot and humid. I called the front desk and was told service would be sent up, only to have to call back over and hour later, and then go the front desk before someone was finally sent up. The staff was very rude as well, and told me that I should have called in the middle of the night when the problem occurred because they have a technician on staff all night - well, the last thing I wanted was a someone in our room ripping apart the ceiling at 2am! And one would expect a hotel of 5 star rating to have rooms with functioning A/C!!
Then it gets better -
By evening we were told the problem was fixed, but by middle of the night it happened again - we finally called the manager and were transferred to another room at 3am only to discover a noisy, clanking air conditioner! By then we were too tired to complain, so we turned it off and tried to sleep. Upon check out the next day, we mentioned the problems and the only response we received from the staff was 'oh well, guess the problem wasn't fixed', and that was it! Our friend who also stayed there, who was platinum Sheraton member, complained on our behalf and only after much debate did they offer to comp us on some of our 'other' expenses such as water we consumed. It never even occured to them to be nice given we hardly slept the two nights there.
This hotel does not deserve the 5 star rating it has received, with HORRIBLE, RUDE service and POOR room quality - I recommend NOT staying here. Also, its far from town. Find a real 5 star hotel if you are going to spend the money and avoid the aggravation!

Stayed here for 4 nights as part of a corporate event. Very impressed with the standard of the room (very fancy bathroom with glass wall with adjustable blinds allowing you to see into the main room area - very cool!). The breakfast was excellent with one of the best selections for a breakfast that I've ever come across. The New York bar on the ground floor serves Mariage Fr?res Marco Polo tea which always a sign of good quality too! The Spa facility is good and while I all I used was the pool and the steam room, sauna area, it was very well designed and relaxing. All in all I'd definitely go there again. There's a supermarket within a 5 minute walk of the hotel which is useful for buying water and gifts such as port... :-)
