Unfair of me, considering that I had more issues with the town of Rovaniemi than the hotel itself, but I just get the feeling that the Scandic along with the area is not set up in any way for Santa-believers and their parents. Kids just ran wild and a Scandic hotel because there was nothing for them to do other than that. The buffet breakfast was perfectly acceptable but again marred by over-excited kids with struggling parents. The dining hall also had a somewhat eerie and bygone feel to it - in need of a good tidy and makeover. Consider visiting this place if you really must stay in Rovaniemi but do as we did on taking my five year-old nephew for the sake of your own sanity and that of fellow guests - make sure that there is plenty to keep kids occupied, whether that be a laptop to watch movies on or play games, some books and anything else you can think of. It'll be too cold to let them outside in the evening and there's nothing to do anyway. On a final and more positive note, the rooms were fine and what you would expect of a hotel of this category.

On arriving at the Scandic it looks very nice from the outside and is right in the centre of town. Once inside the hotel the main public areas were more like a shopping centre than a hotel reception area, glass walls, gift shops and a coffee bar all before you even get to the reception desk. Staff very friendly but don't speak very good english but they endevour to be polite and smile. The corridors to the rooms had metal doors with re-enforced glass which looked like you were about to enter a prison. The room door opened outwards so you have to be careful not to knock anyone out when opening it from the inside. The room itself was clean and tastefully decorated. Bathroom was very small with only enough room for a shower let alone a toilet and basin. Shower area was dirty and mould on the lower tiles. Luckily I was only staying at the hotel a few hours as im unsure if I could have stayed any longer than that, as it just didn't feel welcoming or homely.

C’est un hôtel Scandic standard. Belle chambre propre de dimensions normales pour l’Europe. Salle de bain propre et fonctionnelle (bien qu’assez petite). Il n’y avait qu’une petite fenêtre ne s’ouvrant que partiellement. Le choix de chaînes télé est très limité, mais l’accès gratuit à internet compense. Le petit déjeuner, comme toujours dans les hôtels Scandic, était épouvantable. La liste des aliments disponibles au buffet semble intéressante, mais tout est mal cuit, tiède et les ingrédients sont de piètre qualité. Le personnel est sympathique et disponible. L’hôtel se trouve dans le centre de Rovaniemi.

El staff del hotel fue realmente amable y eficiente en sus consejos. Las habitaciones para ser un hotel Europeo me parecieron bastante amplias y limpias. El desayuno bastante surtido y completo con opciones básicas para niños. Tiene una gran ubicación en el centro de Rovaniemi. Fam. García Marrufo. Metepec, Mexico

Habitación bastante grande y la cama king enorme, limpio calido y acogedor, wc con plato de ducha.El desayuno buffet muy variado y no te lo acabarás, calidad de alimentos correcta. El hotel puede parecer normalito pero si se tiene en cuenta lo que pagamos al reservar con antelación precios muy económicos! El más barato con diferencia por una calidad muy correcta, situado en pleno centro a solo unos pasos de lordi's square y todas las agencias de safaris, se puede alquilar un coche en el mismo hotel y tiene parking.
