The Scandic Hasselbacken is situated right next to Skansen, the ideal destination for young families visiting Stockholm. The hotel and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful, our room was spacious, clean and comfortable and breakfast was extensive and delicious. The family-friendly restaurant is excellent and If you join the (free) Scandic frequent traveller programme you receive 20% discount in their restaurants at the weekend.

We stayed two nights in the Hasselbacken with a family group, for tourism in Stockholm. The hotel is on an island (Djurgarden) connected to other parts of Stockholm by road bridge, trolley, and (short) ferry. The Skansen open-air museum, Wasa ship museum and Nordic museum are all on the island, as is a park that was formerly the royal hunting grounds. An old-fashioned amusement park is located right behind the hotel. Hotel rooms were of adequate size, but crowded if sofa bed pulled out (in family room.) Bathrooms were good. We could hear some noise from other rooms, and faint happy screams from the amusement park rides, but not enough to keep us awake. The included breakfast buffet was generous and excellent. Hotel has very nice saunas with cold plunge for sauna enthusiasts (no swimming pool.) We loved the quiet location away from street traffic but easily accesible to everything in Stockholm. It is a beautiful area for walking or bike-riding on hotel bicycles. The rate was more than you would pay for equivalent quality in a US city, but reasonable by Stockholm standards (less than $200 USD.) We could have gotten a lower rate by pre-paying in advance through the hilton.com website. The hotel had a lot of families with young children, and children were welcomed and provided for with play area. Overall, hotel quality was satisfactory but not luxurious, with best qualities being location and breakfast buffet.

Lo Scandica Hasselbacken è un albergo favoloso. Avevamo una camera familiare superiore che era bellissima e molto grande per noi (in quattro, di cui due bambini piccoli). La posizione è tranquilla; la colazione a buffet, abbondantissima e con quasi solo prodotti biologici, è stata un vero trattamento (la sala da pranzo Hasselbacken è meravigliosa); e il personale della reception è stato gentilissimo e disponibilissimo. Questo albergo è proprio accanto a Skansen e Grona Lund, e a pochi minuti a piedi dall'acquario, il Nordiska Museet, il Vasa Museet, e Junibacken. Inoltre, l'autobus 47 per Norrmalm e T-Centrallen è a pochi passi. Un posto perfetto per famiglie o per chiunque abbia in mente di visitare soprattutto Skansen, Vasa e Junibacken. Altamente raccomandato.

We were tempted to stay in a hotel more in the centre of Stockholm but are so glad we chose this one instead. Our room was spotless and the bed was the most comfortable one we have ever slept in - we had trouble getting up in the mornings! The staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly or helpful. We were visiting family and friends just outside Stockholm and they gave us details of the necessary transport and looked up timetables for us. The location was lovely - right next to Skansen (a must to visit - it makes our zoos and animal parks look pathetic and the old buildings are amazing!) Getting into Central Stockholm was very easy and the buses and boats very frequent ,even in October. We will definitely stay here next time we visit Stockholm.

On avait envie de descendre dans un hôtel situé plus au cœur de Stockholm, mais au final on était content d’avoir choisi celui-ci. Notre chambre était impeccable, et on n’a jamais dormi dans un lit aussi confortable – on avait du mal à se lever le matin ! Les membres du personnel à l’hôtel n’auraient pas pu être plus sympas ou serviables. On était venu voir de la famille et des amis à l’extérieur de Stockholm et ils nous ont donné tous les détails sur les transports en commun et ils ont consulté les horaires pour nous. La situation était très agréable – juste à côté de Skansen (un must - nos zoos et nos parcs animaliers ont vraiment l’air pathétique à côté, et les anciens bâtiments sont sublimes !). C’est très facile de rejoindre le centre-ville de Stockholm et les bus et les bateaux passent très régulièrement, même en octobre. On reviendra ici la prochaine fois que l’on vient à Stockholm.
