We stayed here for two nights. Room was OK but a bit basic. Baathroom was OK but a little dated. Beds were average.
Breakfast was good and staff was OK. All in all, it is a good 3 star Hotel.

We stayed here for four nights 23-27 May. On check in, staff were very pleasant and helpful. Room was OK but a bit basic, more like an Ibis. Having said that, it was very clean and good sized bathroom. Shower gel/soap supplied in containers on wall. Beds were extremely comfortable.
The amenities state that it has a mini bar which made me think it would be refridgerated. No way, it is a tiny glass faced shelf and not at all cold. Also there are only wardrobes and shelving, no drawers at all.
Now the good bit! The breakfast spread is brilliant, one of the best I have seen. Something for everyone including fruit, cereals, fruit juice, yogurts, hot food, cold meats and cheese, so many types of bread and rolls, crispbreads etc etc. Staff were pleasant and tables were cleared quickly.
There was a room labled 'business centre' with a pc and printer . There was free internet access and printing, ideal for printing boarding cards when checking in on line.
Check out time was 12 noon and there was a room for storing luggage for you.
There is also a sauna, solarium and fitness suite (the jacuzzi is currently out of action). You can use the swimming pool at the Scandic Europa hotel free of charge. It is a 4-5 minute walk away.
All in all, it is a good hotel for a short stay and very convenient for transport restaurants etc. The trams were brilliant for getting around the city. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
We though Gothenburg was a lovely city with lots of parks and open spaces, also very close to the sea, lots of good trips to go on.

We were a bit disappointed with the hotel - there's nothing I can overtly complain about but the hotel was a bit souless. The breakfast was nice but you did feel like you were eating in a business hotel and not a romantic getaway hotel. The room was clean but a bit dated and could have done with refurbishing. The gym/jacuzzu was nice but again a bit souless. Id recommend this hotel for a business traveler but if I was going again I wouldn't stay here - try the Avalon hotel. we had a quick look and it is very funky with a great atmosphere and much better location.

We stayed at the Scandic Crown for three nights and let me say this was a complete pleasure. The free breakfast is extensive and delicious (I have never seen so many organic foods at a hotel breakfast!), the front desk is friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable, and the location is tops, just a few blocks from the central train station. We loved it!
