My worst hotel experience ever

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night as I was travelling on from Malmo to the south Swedish coast the next day. I arrived rather late and went directly to my room. When I was in the room I wanted to open the curtains to let some air into the stuffy room only to discover that there were no windows in the room that I was given! There were only walls behind the curtain!
I have never seen such a thing before - horrible to wake up in the morning and not to be able to see outside! I didn't bother to complain that evening as I was too tired, but I sent the hotel an email complaint later only to get a reply back that this was a perfectly good room and they refused to give me some of my money back for the bad experience.
I would not go there again.

As my favorite hotel in Malmø was fully booked, I decided to try yhis hotel.
The location is very good (almost unbeatable), right in the middle of the shopping district and the main squares.
Reception area is spacious and quite modern, although you might get an "airport feeling" while there - not that cosy and charming, that is. Check in went smooth.
My room was not newly renovated, lthough clean.
Corridors were also a bit "tired".
Breakfast room was nice, and the breakfast itself was good. Nice selection of hot food, cold cuts, jams, cereals etc.

A good hotel overall. Location was very central, quite near to the train station, about 10 mins walking. Nice surrounding area and very close to the little market square.
Hotel itself is very typical Scandic, thus very minimalistic.
Good points are the free WiFi, and the very good breakfast spread which is included in the room price.
Bad points: During the weekends, the breakfast room gets a bit crowded, rooms are a bit small, but I guess that is normal in the Scandinavian countries.
Note: Scandic hotels are leaving the HH program, so in future there would be no special treatments for HH members.
Overall, a good option for visitors who want to save on the much higher prices of hotels in Copenhagen, just about 1/2 hour train ride away. Including the train tickets, this could be a good location to be based for visiting Copenhagen.

This hotel is in a great location in the shopping area of the pretty town of Malmo - but be warned that car parking is a nightmare so be prepared to pay for the hotel car park.
I had a room overlooking a side-street, but I had no disturbance. The reception area is pleasant and there is a small bar that also serves snack meals - I'd have preferred a better restaurant. The breakfast room overlooking the adjoining square is very nice though, and the Scandic breakfast was typically comprehensive.
The room was a decent size, but gloomy and drab, as are other public areas of the hotel. I was surprised at the lack of toiletries, tissues, plug for the washbasin. It transpired that this was fairly usual for Swedish hotels, but I think that the "environmental" arguments for this are somewhat flimsy weighed against the inconvenience.
