The wife and I made a reservation practically at the last minute (night before) to stay in Sidney, Nebraska. We were on our way from North Platte to Cheyenne, when we heard that winds in Cheyenne were expected to gust over 55 miles per hour the day we were to arrive there. It was a GREAT decision to stay at the Americinn. Terrific location, friendly people, well-insulated rooms with modern decor. Everything worked to our satisfaction including the high speed internet connection and the facility was CLEAN! The town is an unexpected treasure as well with several points of interest to visit. We will definitely stay at the Americinn again if and when we travel to or through Sidney again.

I booked a night stay here through the corporate website a king suite so that i could have a fridge for my son's medicine and sufficient sleeping space. The initial confirmation I received showed only one guest so I called the corporate number and was assured that they would note the change and we would have the suite as shown, the fridge, and sofa sleeper, and rollaway. Received an email indicating that.
The good: The lobby was clean. Cute decor. The hostess nice. food at breakfast not as good as holiday inn express or homewood, or Embassy, or hampton.
The bad:
The room had paper towels hanging from the shower curtain.
It stank of cigarettes. And it was all wrong. It seems that if you book through the hotel site not the local hotel direct site, there is no guarantee to room type or condition. We arrived at six with credit card guaranteed room to find we had only a standard king bed. No sleeper no fridge(needed for sons medicine) and a room that had been smoked in because even housekeeping was like this room stinks. There were no other rooms, and it was offered I could drive 10-15 miles down the road to hotel with no pool and no breakfast, but we could drive back and forth if we wanted to use the pool. We had just driven 12 hours. and with the price of gas... The manager said it was basically our fault for not booking directly with the hotel instead of going through the corporate website. And, they tried to make us happy with extra bedding etc. and a rollaway (which I was charged for) I don't know another chain with that attitude. Then she blamed corporate for switching the rooms, although corporate says it the local hotel fault. Go figure.
Insufficient breakfast seating. Extremely small and highly chlorinated pool.
Manager in a tank tee and cutoffs. Saying it was my fault for not booking direct. And they tried to accomodate after all they gave us a rollaway and extra bedding (there was however a $10 extra charge for it!) And I got charged the same rate as for the suite.
Alcoholic beverages are served in the lobby on the way to the pool so if you have small children watch for drinkers.
Americinn? NEVER AGAIN!

I would surely recommend this place. Very clean and friendly staff. A unique log-house type lobby. The only thing I found that could change being a weekly visitor to Sidney, is an option for a gym and wireless internet. These improvements can make it perfect for a business traveller.

This was a great place to stay! There is a cozy lodge style theme throughout the motel, even a fire burning in the fireplace. Free breakfast in the morning, guest laundromat and pets allowed. The staff is extremely friendly and accomodating. Convenient location right off I-80 and directly next to Cabela's. My only complaint was that the indoor pool was closed for renovations during our stay.
