Friendly staff -- too many stairs

One enters the parking lot through a gas station which was a bit confusing at first. Our room was quiet (and there was a boys' soccer team staying there) and clean except for some stray hairs on the bathroom floor.
The motel is on several levels requiring stairs even for the ground floor. No elevator.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast was adequate.

a very clean and almost brand new looking motel. coffee etc available in breakfast area all day. we were disappointed by the staff on reception. one girl tried to do 3 things at once instead of concentrating on one thing at a time, a queue soon built up. the ginger haired woman who seemed to be in charge was a real rottweiler and quite patronising calling me 'dear',dont call me dear! please watch out that you arent charged twice. we had 2 rooms, when we checked out they took the money from my visa. on my statement 2 more different amounts went out too. i phoned to query this to be told by the rottweiler that the 'holding' amounts for the room would be credited back between 3-7 days. i cannot understand why it would be taken in the first place once we had shown our card and paid!!!
this is the best super 8 in rapid city if you want to be near the centre, the other super 8 is way out. it cost approx $11 for a taxi to go downtown though eateries and cinema close by. rapid city good for nightlife but dont go in Oasis so im told! the south dakotan people are so friendly on the whole!

My husband and I stayed at this motel on 10-12-06 while traveling throughout the Black Hills. The front desk staff, James, was very friendly and efficient making check in a breeze. He was also full of knowledge about the local area which helped us in our travel planning. Our room was on the 2nd floor and was clean and quiet except for the early morning hunters. The continental breakfast was substantial and offered variety. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed again on 10-14-06, the night before we flew home. Shelley was the front desk clerk this time and again our check in was friendly and quick. She offered us advice on where to dine, even giving us a local map and detailed directions to the restaurant of our choosing. The motel was reasonable in price and the location is great. Near the Rushmore Mall as well as several chain restaurants - TGIFriday's, Denny's, Boston's, Red Lobster, etc. Will definitely stay here if we're in the area again.

I stayed at this location for three days in August 2005. The rooms are clean and well maintained and the hotel is conveniently located near shopping, restaurants and the interstate. I would definitely stay at this location again.
