I picked this hotel because of it's price, it was the best value in the Charleston/Mattoon area. For the first time i've ever booked and stayed in a hotel by myself the experience was very good. If I had a laptop I would have used the internet but they have a computer available in the lobby. I was hoping to have another stay earlier this week to look at houses in the area but my dad wanted it to be a one day trip. TV had a pretty good line up and the room was really clean. I really wanted to stay again the collect more points but it didn't happen.

The hotel was okay. On the phone we were promised a particular rate. If we hadn't been promised that rate, we may not have stayed there. When we got there and signed the paper work, it was for the promised rate. Can you believe it - The next morning when we checked out, the girl said that the rate was not authorized and we ended up paying way more than what we agreed to in the first place. Her name was Linda, and she actually placed blame on her colleague. The guy that checked us in was courteous and polite. I thought when you signed a paper at check in, it was to say you were agreeing to pay the amount specified. I think that should be an agreement from both sides (the hotel and the guest). Everything about this hotel sucks, especially when they check you in for one price, then double it when you go to check out.

Checking into the king bed suite was a disappointment. The "suite" was just a larger room with a tiny refrigerator and microwave on top of it. They did have a 2 person couch and a recliner, but nothing else. Trying to turn on the TV we noticed there was no remote control. I had to call the front desk requesting one. This seems to be common because they stated "oh boy" and got us another. The second day we left at 7:00 am and returned at 6:30 pm. The room was not vacuumed, room trash & old food was not picked up and the trash can (yes only one in the bathroom) was overflowing. The bed linen was not changed, but the bed was made. When we asked the front desk about this they stated "It is normal policy NOT to change linens for guest staying longer than one night!" I could not believe this, but after speaking with the manager Lora Hahn she stated "yes, we always do that". This place is unsanitary. The shower knob fell out of the wall and you are lucky to get a second bar of soap. Do not stay here!
