Quiet but my room smelled

The hotel was quiet but the room smelled when I first got into it. I talked to the front desk about it the next morning and we figured it was condensation in the A/C unit as it had been really warm and then the temp cooled down and the A/C had not been used. We did get used to the smell so it wasn't overpowering. The hotel was very quiet even though it was full. This had been our experience at the the Americinns that we have stayed at. The breakfast was good. The Internet was down. The pool was very small. It reminded me of one of those preformed pools that you put in your back yard (I am pretty sure that that is what it was).

We stayed here when my husband was out-processing the Air Force from his stay in Korea, as well as for some site-seeing in the area. We really enjoyed this hotel!
The room was pretty standard, nothing to really jump and shout about. However, they had our reservation perfect, we just wanted a king size bed and mini-fridge. There was also free wireless internet, which was a huge plus for us!
Every morning, there was breakfast available in the lobby. It consisted of the usual cold breakfast food as well as one hot item. There was always coffee with a variety of creamers, fresh juice, and all kinds of goodies. The toaster was a bit slow, but we didn't mind waiting. We could also always find a place to sit.
The location was good. The hotel was right off of I-90, there was gas stations, fast food resturants, sit-down resturants, and the mall with a Target was a mile away. (Which was great while I was waiting for hubby to fly in...it helped passed the time.) There was also a Wal-Mart down the street, which was perfect for my husband who had lost a piece of luggage!
The staff was wonderful as well. They were eager to hand out maps, point out things to do, asked us how everything was, and smiled!
We enjoyed our stay there and are planning on taking another trip out to the Black Hills next summer, and this is where we are planning on staying!

I stayed this hotel two nights during my trip at Mt. Rushmore. The hotel is good location from freeway and there are lots of resturant.
This season's hotel price is much higher than usual, so I paid almost
$120/night. To think about this price, the hotel quality is not enough but to compare with other same level of hotel, price was good!! The room was okay and breakfast waffle and coffee were good!!

Customer Service was as great as a Disney World Hotel!

Kudos to the management at Americinn, Rapid City, SD! Customer service from check-in, housekeeping, and breakfast was excellent. All the employees that I encountered were friendly, and helpful. Our housekeeping lady took the extra step and tidied the kids' room with arranging the stuffed animals differently every day. That sort of treatment reminded me of our stay at Disney World's All Star hotel. The front desk evening clerk was also helpful to give me advice on the tourist attractions that were worth while, and the ones to skip. Our friendly, breakfast lady was also quite helpful and knowledgeable about local tourist attractions, and places to avoid because they weren't places for kids. The staff made us feel very welcome!
Our 2 room suite was quite comfortable; we had enough room in the kids' portion to fit all 3 of them comfortably. Air conditioning was good. The only improvement I would say to the hotel is to add a ceiling fan in the 2nd room closest to the door to the hall, because that smaller room was stuffy when we closed the divider. We needed cool air to relax in after being in the 104 degree heat after seeing the sites!
The pool was clean, but could be larger to fit the amount of guests at the hotel. The hotel location was great; very convenient off I-90, and not right next to it to be bothered by the highway traffic. Restaurants were easy drives or walks. Boston's gave you 10% off your bill if you mention you are staying at Americinn.
The drives to most of the attractions were also easy to make, and Mt. Rushmore was only 20-25 minutes away in good traffic.
Finally, the hotel offered warm cookies every afternoon to give you a boost after seeing the attractions.
Overall, an excellent hotel for value, convenience, and customer care!
