I agree with the other reviewer who complemented the Dutch receptionist, she deserves a raise! She has good english (other staff are so so) and couldn't be more helpful. The hotel itself is nice and good value. The rooms are clean and the restaurant is good, if a little expensive. On the subject of expensive, the breakfaat isn't cheap at CH18 and certainly is not worth it for the money. There are a few other small issues such as very expensive internet (Swisscom - cheaper option would be nice!) and occasionaly hte room key not working. Overall good value and would stay here again.

We (me and my husband) stayed there for a night on a bike trip. At the same time there was the "Braderie" a huge festival with thousands of people. Nevertheless, the hotel was very quiet and we had a very restful sleep.Rooms are clean, staff is friendly, there's a garage where we could even put our bikes in.
Breakfast was extra, so we didn't take it, the buffet looked nice, though.
I recommend this hotel very much, it's at a great location and it fulfilled all my wishes.

I stayed here for a week as a reasonably central base for my travels around western Switzerland. Checking in I found myself faced with a Dutch receptionist, Anna, who must be the friendliest, most welcoming, happiest and most amusing person I've met in a chain hotel in a *very* long time.
The hotel itself is a standard chain hotel, smallish rooms (at least for single rooms), usual facilities, no air-conditioning (which was a shame) and would deserve three points as OK but nothing special. Anna, however, deserves about 10 points out of 5, so I've marked the hotel up to a 4 purely because of her presence.
Can we have more reception staff like her, please?

Good modern business type hotel with comfortable small rooms in a quiet residential area and close to the city center. Biel itself is a small city with nice walks to the Bieler lake and around the well preserved mediaeval district, well worth a detour and an overnight stay.
