The room was clean and comfortable, although small. Our room faced the main road below and it was extremely noisy when the window was open, which made it difficult to sleep. There is no air conditioning, so it was necessary to keep the window open. The hotel itself is in a prime location, near the train station and the river in Zurich. The staff was very nice. Breakfast is not included in this hotel.

We were planning to stay a night (2 families with 1small child each) - booked online and arrived there only to find that they had no rooms available - the previous guests had apparently not booked out from both our rooms and there was nothing the hotel could do but send us to another hotel nearby - the Sorell Rutli. We voiced our dissatisfaction as the other hotel was inferior in quality but that was to no avail. In the end, and after further protest from our side, the hotel staff was only generous enough to give us free breakfast (which we couldn't take advantage of anyway). Overall, terrible handling of an extraordinary situation. Can't say much about the rooms as we were not able to stay in the Hotel du Thatre.
Have they ever heard of an upgrade? They could have simply billed the overstaying guests the difference in form of penalty and ensure that we'd stay satisfied guests.

The hotel is clean and relatively cheap for Zurich, and very centrally located. Parking was an issue though, the nearby public parking lot closed at night and was closed in the morning, so we had to take ou car out at 7PM and find a spot in the street.
The room was ridiculously small, there was barely enough space to move around the bed and the bathroom was a cupboard. That really sucked, we were there just for one short night so it did not matter but I would have hated to stay longer. Such small rooms are beyond unacceptable for over 200 CHF.
The decor was cold and boring.
The staff was friendly.
