Had a great experience with another Best Western in France (the night before), so decided to try this one in Interlaken. I thought that the hotel was much too expensive for what we got. This was the smallest room we had on our entire stay in France, Switzerland and Italy and the bathroom was also tiny. If you are looking for something close to the train station, then this place fits the bill. The included breakfast was fine, but not great and they charged me 8 euros (for 30 minutes of internet time). I paid the equivalent of 155 euros for a double room (and this was out of season for them). When I compare this to the room I had in Chamonix, France a week later for 87 euros (a similar type of alpine location) I think of this Best Western as a rip off.

2nd stay here. For a 3 star hotel in Switzerland, this must be as good as they get. Decent room with frequent linen and every day towel change. Well equipped bathroom. Excellent choice at cold breakfast. Most helpful staff. And superbly positioned for Interlaken West station and Thunersee boats. The restaurant is leased out and appears to very popular with Asian visitors. The Cafe de Paris (about five minutes walk) is splendid and reasonable.

The Hotel was just a Best Western, but very clean, great staff, nice size rooms, and a nice place eat right next door kinda like the us version of TGIF. The continental breakfast was nice and good selection. We were there in the heart of winter so very very cold. Small town with lots and lots of charm. Walking distiance from the train station. The trains in Switzerland are very clean and on time not so in lots of other countries. The must thing to do is the Top of Europe Experience Jungfrauijoch. It is an all day tour with lots of trains to get you to the top. Once we got to the top and walked out to see the views, it almost makes you cry with its beauty. The kids loved the ice tunnels and the look out spots. There is a wonderful restaurant with breathtaking views and tasty food. Note everything cost so much more in Switzerland but very worth it.

I only stayed at the Bernerhof for one night, but I really enjoyed my stay there. To sum it up, the location is amazing, the rooms are big and clean, and the cost is affordable. I paid 120 CHF for one night which is excellent value for its location. I asked for a single room in my reservation, but they gave me 2 double beds.
When I arrived at Interlaken West station, I was surprised to see how close the hotel was. It's only a 2 minute walk. It sits along the main street of Bahnhofstrasse/Hoheweg and is surrounded by many restaurants, Migros, and tourist shops. The walk from Interlaken West to Interlaken Ost is about 25-30 minutes, whereas the bus ride takes about 5-8 minutes (the bus driver was very friendly as well).
As for the hotel itself, the room was big compared to other hotels I stayed at in Switzerland. The lighting was good, the carpet was nice, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was especially large and very clean. To get in and out of the hotel, you require two keys. The hotel manager will explain to you when you're there, but basically there is a key for your room and another key to get through the main entrance of the hotel. I did appreciate the added security. You can also buy their breakfast for an additional 10 CHF.
Two reasons I'd recommend this hotel are: 1. Affordable price and good value. I was tight on money, so I needed a place that was reasonably priced. 2. Great location. I needed a hotel that was close to the train station so it made my travels quicker and easier.
