First off, I don't know what part has been renovated but it definitely wasn't noticable. When we got there to check in, you had to buzz to even have the lobby door opened ( at 3:00 in the afternoon), the key that was given us did not work in the door, when we finally got in there was a strong odor of goo gone or something similar, no fridge, no microwave, no iron, cover off the thermostat, stains on the wall, bathroom was disgusting, decided to shower right away and tub overflowed while showering, cigarette butt in radiator vent which was broken. No towels, had to go get management three times in first half hour. Finally moved to new room where it reeked of cigarette smoke, holes in bedspread, stains on pillowcases and sheets. We had to ask six times for extra pillows and did not receive till 2nd night. There were other problems but I think you get the point. Definately will not stay there again!!!

Wow.. all rooms smell like Smoke chamber. Even their cleaners are smoking during their cleaning. Every thing was broken, tab water does not work. Carpets are very dirty. Tv remotes do not work. Internet did not work. What surprises me the most was, how these motels are approved from Health inspectors. I thought, usa was not a third world country. if you perfer to live at a ghetto place OR you are looking for a dirty hole just to hide yourself for the night or you can not afford any other thing , then this is the right place for you. First, i want to move immediately But i was too tired to move somewhere else at 2AM after too much driving. I complained the problems but soon realized, manager was originally from pakistan & just keep on saying Yes, Yes, & does nothing to your complain. Guys, there are thousand of motels on this road (62). This motel experience makes me feel so bad, even i do not feel booking anymore on internet unless & until i have seen the place.

we booked a 2 room family suite (lol!)with 3 beds for my family of four a month ahead, and received confirmation on the type of accommodation that we booked. When we got there, the manager told us that he only had one room for us with 2 beds, and to take it or leave it. It was Black Friday and he claimed that he could easily sell our room for double the price. Having driven all the way from Toronto, we had no other choice. The motel looked nothing like the pictures on the website. The room was the dingiest, filthiest hole we had ever been into. The toilet didn't flush, the towels smelled, and worst of all, there was no heat!!!. Fortunately for us, the 2 heater units which we bought from Target came in very handy. 2 thumbs up for those heaters, but I wouldn't go back to the motel even if my life depended on it.

We used hotels.ca to book a 2 night stay for 2 rooms, for 4 people. The photo on the website looked acceptable and clean. Were we ever wrong!!! Upon arriving at the Pelican Motel, we were asked to pay CASH & give copies of our Driver’s licenses up front. Seeming little odd, we requested to see the rooms before paying. Thank god we did! The rooms smelled horrible, the carpets were filthy, there was a locked door within the room, the toilets & tubs were disgusting, and one toilet wasn’t even flushed! The sheets had holes & stains and the underside of the comforter was BROWN! To cover the smell they used a very unappealing orange scented spray. Upon checking the other room, no key was necessary to enter. The door didn’t even lock! The bathroom window was wide open and didn’t lock either. The carpets were equally dirty and the sheets equally brown! Not to mention the smell of natural gas that filled the closets! We decided we absolutely could not stay here! The lady at the front desk was completely clueless and could not give us a straight answer to any of our questions and had to keep calling someone on the phone from the back room speaking another language we couldn’t understand. I was then told that if we didn’t stay there we would be charged for one night or the full amount depending on what the manager said. I asked to speak to the manager and was handed the phone. The rude man on the other end told me we would be charged and that I could call the manager on Monday. He wasn’t even the manager! Who was I talking to?? After checking into much more suitable accommodations I called my credit card company to put a stop payment on the Pelican Motel. Too late! They had already charged it! Not even 30 minutes after we left! All in all, this was the most disgusting, un-fit motel I have ever seen & wouldn’t recommend this motel or experience to my worst enemy!

This was the worse stay I have ever experienced. The room smelled horrible. There was hair, stains, holes on the bedsheets and pillow case. The carpet is dirty. The walls are thin and all I can hear at night are the people and tv from next door. Only 1 out of the 3 lamps in the room actually worked. The fire dectector was ripped out from the ceiling which I imagine is not the safest or legal. There were no towel racks or hooks in the bathroom which made it difficult to place my belongs in such a dirty environment. The motel is listed as having wireless internet service but of course none was provided. We actually went to the KFC beside the motel for lunch 2 days later and we saw the cleaning lady go into and out of the room. No bedsheets were changed. We saw her vacuum and that was it. This was a very unpleasant and uncomfortable experience and I WOULD NOT recommend this motel to anyone. It's just not worth it.
