Went on business and decided to bring boys along, ages 14 and 19.The executive sized beds are full sized beds. No one slept well the first night. We all woke up overly tired and cranky. Ordered two rollaways because there were no other rooms with larger beds other than king sized. The room was then very cramped. To add insult to injury one of the rollaways was broken and it took my son three days to recover from his back pain. Fortunately the weather was terrible so there was nothing to do. Otherwise, our vacation would have been ruined. In addition, While advertising parental controls on the TV, the hotel does not offer any such controls. The front desk manager claimed they did not offer adult movies. However, they offered international movies such as the "Whore and the Whale" and another movie about an erotic love affair. Regarding service and amenities I give them an A+. I would recommend this hotel to families with children small enough to share a bed with and young enough not to operate a remote control. It is also very nice for adults who don't want children running all over the place provided they get a king sized bed. If not they will be sleeping in separate beds as many of out friends did.

We spent 1 night and 2 days at the Ritz Grande Lakes. Although the property is beautiful and the weather was perfect, we were disappointed with the quality of the service. It was July 4th weekend, and the property, along with the JW Mariott (adjacent property) were teeming with WAY TOO MANY people, a lot of whom looked like they may have just come to play for the day (and were not staying at either of the properties). On Saturday, July 5th, we could not find a single pool chair at the JW or the Ritz pools. We ended up paying $20 dollars for access to the Spa pool-- best money spent! The private spa area and pool were a true retreat. Despite the enjoyable spa area, we felt we had to keep "checking" things on our reservation-- regarding a credit we received for dining services and late checkout. We had a 4pm checkout with our Amex card, and the other couple in our party actually received a knock at their door seeing if the needed "help with their luggage" since check out time had already passed (it was only 2:00pm). The room was nice, but our room faced the courtyard (3rd floor) and was actually loud for a portion of the night (around 10pm). The Ritz and the JW should really try to control crowds in a more effective manner. Paying guests do not appreciate hoards of "visitors" taking up chairs and pool space. I'd recommend heading to the property on a slower weekend and investing in the spa area. Not quite as "ritzy" as we expected...

My husband and I just returned from our stay at the Ritz Carlton Grande Lakes over July 4th weekend. We were celebrating our anniversary and from the moment we walked in we felt wonderful. We were given a great view and a special gift was waiting for us in the room when we arrived. ( I noted in the reservation that it was our first anniversary) The bell hop was very friendly and eager to please us. We found that 99% of the staff gave us outstanding service. The only restaurant we ate at was the Vineyard Grill for breakfast. As others have said, the food is a little slow to come out but nothing to complain about. We enjoyed our breakfast. We spent most of our time at Disney World during our trip but when we were at the hotel any special requests we had the staff bent over backwards to meet. We got married at Disney last year and stayed at the Grand Floridian Resort. It was a great experience and a beautiful hotel, but for a lot less you can get that in a more personal atmosphere at the Ritz Carlton. So in less it's the closeness of the parks you're after or the half price valet parking, I suggest staying at the Ritz. The only rude staff member we encountered during our trip was on the very last day as we were leaving, a valet guy was obviously not having a good day. Over all we had a very nice stay and we will most definitely return in the future.

Things got off to a good start when i checked in and was given a cold towel for my sweating brow (it was hot outside). I was staying in Orlando for a conference. The hotel choice was out of my control as it was attached to the conference booking. The room was surprisingly small and only had a shower. I was somewhat jet lagged when i'd arrived after an 11 hour flight so didnt really notice the bathroom until the following morning. This was when i noticed no bath and a shower only (it was later on i noticed they'd put me in a disabled room). Overall the staff were cold and uninterested especially the check-in and bag staff. Room service was an improvement and the one area that did impress were the house cleaning services. Would I stay here again? There is certainly better in orlando, the cyprus grand hyatt for example which i would probably stay at instead next time. There were also limited dining options within the hotel itself although with a bit of a trek you could goto the sister hotel which sits on the same site. I was personally disappointed with the hotel and staff for the reasons above - small room, disabled room, badly designed shower which drenched the entire toilet everytime i used it and cold staff with the exception of the folks performing the nightly turn down service.

Stayed for 3 nights (2-6 June) with my husband. I had requested a lake view room in my booking which was as usual not visible at check-in, but after asking the receptionist, got a lake view room afterall.
We stayed in room 415 which was a lovely clean spacious room with a fantastic view of the lake and a lovely balcony to sit out. There was an in-room safe, fridge, 37" plasma tv and an extremely comfortable 6 foot bed. There were also some small complimentary bottles of water which was replenished daily.
The bathroom was big with a bathtub (no shower overhead), shower cubicle, toilet (in a cubicle with a door), two sinks, bathrobes, slippers and lots of clean soft towels.
We only ate once at the hotel and that was room service one night. The quality of the food was very good albeit expensive, but room service always is.
Maid service was always efficient and to a very good standard, although on one morning the maid wasn't particularly 'friendly' when asked to come back later.
Staff around the hotel were always friendly. However, on the first morning we asked concierge to bring our car round for us. Having waitied a good 20 minutes at reception I asked my husband to enquire as to the whereabouts of our car, only to be told (by the same concierge) that the car wouldn't be brought in to us and that we had to go outside for the car! I thought this was rather rude. How were to to know how their valet parking operated? Also, everyone else was offered bottled water except us that morning!
The hotel pool was nice - clean and lovely temperature. Bottled water was complimentary (you just helped yourself) and there was no signing in/out of pool towels. However, the spa tub was a little too hot.
We had a look at the neighbouring JW Marriott's pool after reading reviews about it and it was just okay, nothing special, so I don't understand why some reviewers were raving about it. (The Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress pool is fantastic if you want a great pool). However, I have to say that the JW Marriott's reception area is a bit more grand than the Ritz's, but the Ritz wins hands down on everything else.
The charge for valet parking (you can't self park) is a bit of a rip off and it wasn't even run efficiently. There were many occassions when we stood waiting for either the car to be collected or dropped off.
All in all a lovely hotel if you have the money to splash out on something a bit more upmarket.
