Normally we don't like 4* hotels - they are often bland and characterless. The Speicher however is a pleasant exception - a converted warehouse on the waterfront, Our room was a superior double and was the size of a small flat (apartment) with separate living area, small kitchen area and sleeping area on two levels. The breakfast was exceptional with the breakfast room overlooking the bay. We didn't eat in the restaurant so cannot comment on that. Free WiFi but reception a bit weak.
So what was the downside. A bit on the expensive side, parking a bit cramped, and a strange idea that for authenticity your curtains consist of a sliding metal shutter device which struggled to keep out the bright May sunshine!
