Great Service, View, location. Staff was attentive, beds comfortable and food excellent. Enjoyed staying here in the 1970's and enjoyed it again now. Hotel has tremendous history, if you're a history buff read up on it and the area before you visit.

We stayed here for two nights and were really surprised when we checked in to be told we would be upgraded to the best suite in the hotel. When we arrived in the suite we were absolutely thrilled as it was superb but as I walked in I did notice a strange smell. We went out for a walk and when we came back the smell had intensified to being absolutely appalling - I imagined the toilet was blocked. I rang down and the ass. manager came up and apologized but said there was nobody on duty to help but would be available tomorrow morning. However, after being in the shower with the stench, I could not stand it any more so the guy came back again and I asked to be moved to another ordinary room. Heaven, a view of the lake ( as the other room had) but no ghastly smell. Apart from this, I thought it was a great hotel and I hope they've sorted the problem out.

Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist absolut unausgewogen. Wir hatten eine Tagung im Hotel und bekamen für viel Geld mangelhafte Tagungstechnik und minderwertige Kaffeepausen-Verpflegung geboten. Das Personal war überlastet bzw. unwillig, auf Wünsche unsererseits einzugehen. Das Haus ruht sich auf seiner Tradition aus, statt offensichtlichen Renovierungsbedarf umzusetzen. Schade eigentlich!

We are a family of 3 who stayed here in late 2006. We had a few problems with the room because we booked a triple room but were put into a double. After some discussion, we were moved to a triple. The room had no view but was ok. But the location is really great. We were travelling on Eurail passes so walked passed a beer cafe on the way down the road towards the river and decided to eat there. The food was great and the people wonderful. The breakfast at the hotel was spectacular in the beautiful dining room and the views of the river of course are spectacular. We caught the train down to Rudesheim and caught the boat back to St Goar and the train back to Bad Godesberg. Wonderful day. Great stay.

Wir, eine dreiköpfige Familie, waren Ende 2006 in diesem Hotel. Es gab zuerst ein paar Probleme mit unserem Zimmer, weil anstatt des gebuchten Dreierzimmers ein Doppelzimmer bekamen. Nach einigem Hin und Her bekamen wir schließelich unser Dreierzimmer. Das Zimmer hatte zwar keine Aussicht, war aber okay. Aber die Lage ist wirklich sehr gut. Wir waren mit Eurail-Tickets unterwegs, und kamen auf dem Weg runter zum Fluss an einem Bierlokal vorbei, wo wir uns kurzentschlossen niederließen, um etwas zu essen. Das Essen war sehr gut und die Leute dort wundervoll. Das Frühstück, das in dem wunderschönen Esszimmer serviert wird, war fantastisch, und der Blick über den Fluss atemberaubend. Wir fuhren mit der Bahn nach Rüdesheim, mit dem Boot zurück nach St. Goar und dann mit der Bahn zurück nach Bad Godesberg. Ein wunderschöner Tag! Super Aufenthalt!
