I stayed at the Best Western March 7-10, 2007 while in Wichita on business. The hotel itself was okay, for the most part. I found the only good thing about the location was its proximity to I-135.
On the drive up the hotel looked unremarkable, but the lobby was inviting. The desk clerk seemed to be confused, and my check-in took longer than usual. Finally I got my key card and some sketchy directions to my room, with no reference to a map of the property to show the location of my room. It took me five minutes (and reparking my car twice) before I finally found my room.
The room itself was fine and roomy, with plenty of storage space (except for the teeny-tiny area around the sink). The lack of space around the sink was a big disappointment for me, as I wound up putting my vitamin collection on the desk.
As I was getting settled in I noticed a major problem with noise in the room. My room overlooked an indoor couryard where convention sessions were being held (but at least they didn't go on during the evening and night hours). My big beef about the noise, however, were the SLAMMING DOORS and the high school students in Wichita for some athletic function. The kids were propping opening their doors so they could easily go from one room to the next. Unfortunately, this meant their conversations were easily heard in my room!
The hotel restaurant is a Country Kitchen, with so-so food. Guests receive passes for a complimentary breakfast buffet. The bacon was lukewarm, limp and greasy; the scrambled eggs tasted so much like a mix they were downright inedible. I was very disappointed there was no French toast, waffles or other such options, and the pastry/donut and fruit selections were VERY limited and not too fresh-looking.
On the plus side -- my room was clean, and my bed was comfortable. There is an entertainment courtyard (indoors) with a pool, shuffleboard, board games, etc.
This hotel is located just north of Wichita outside Park City. The hotel restaurant is the only restaurant in the immediate vicinity. I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere! I wound up driving 20 minutes into Wichita to get some decent food.
All in all, this hotel would not be bad for an overnight stay, particularly if travelling with children. Just make sure you ask for a room facing outside and not inside.

The hotel was fun, I went during an anime convention called AFW, Anime Fest Wichita, but there were some problems. The food was not the best, and we found hair in it, and the guy in the dinning room did nothing about it but tell us to get another plate. In our room, there was dog poop under the bed, dried, nasty dog poop! It makes me shudder still! The maids were also very rude. We were trying to leave, and they kept harassing us and telling us to get out. While we packed our things getting ready to leave. We just wanted to make sure we got everything. We also got a call on our phone about 2(we were all up watching tv, but the tv was low so it wasn't like anyone could hear) and someone told us to immedatly stop yelling or we would get kicked out. We weren't yelling, jumping around, anything. So, I have no clue why we would get kicked out. I don't really suggest staying here.

Stayed at the Best Western on 1-135 North...actually in Park City Kansas, but it's the northern part of Wichita. We had a very nice room.....clean...large...had a sofa, chair, desk and chair, microwave, coffee maker and refrigerator. They had an inside pool which was very nice. Also, a very big game area ajoining the pool and it had all kinds of games for the kids to play. Lots of seating for guests to gather and visit. Huge indoor area. A Country Kitchen is connected to the front lobby and we were given coupons for the Breakfast Buffet. A really good deal as the buffet had lots of choices (fruit, eggs, bacon, cold cereal, doughnuts etc) Much, much better than the regular continental breakfast usually provided in motels. The outside of the building is deceiving as the interior is nicer. All in all, we thought it was a good value and very clean. Kids will love the pool and play area.

Stayed at this hotel one night while my son played in a basketball tournament. The rooms were nice and clean. We really enjoyed the big area with pool tables, ping-pong, arcade and mini golf. Was very kid friendly.
