We really tried to give the Radisson a shot, but this hotel was not a pleasant stay. The rooms are in dire need of a rennovation, the beds are ok, but the rest of the room needs to be upgraded. The bathrooms are kind of gross; there was mold growing around my bath tub drain. My friend's toilet was over flowing and we asked the front desk 3 times to fix it and they never addressed it. Customer service is awful. You ask folks at the front desk to do things for you and they give you an excuse why they can't help you right now. I had packages for me and they didn't even call me to let me know. Its just the type of place where you feel people dont care about their job nor want to give it a little extra because they care about their job. Also, did I mention that some articles of my clothing were stolen from my room from housekeeping.

I really liked this hotel. My husband and I were going on a cruise leaving out of Mobile, and we wanted somewhere to stay the night before. When we checked in, the staff asked us if we would like the "Cruise Package" (your stay + parking for 5 days + breakfast in their restaurant) for only like $15.00 more than our stay. It ended up saving us about $80.00. Parking @ the pier is $60.00 depending on what you drive. Also, the staff were so nice! They made us feel very welcome. Radisson Admiral Semmes Hotel is the most hospitable hotel I have ever stayed in!!!

Do not stay here during "events" since the 2 elevators are limited to 6 people per trip and they are SLOOOOW. Our friends stayed in a room with 2 queen beds and the smoke detector beeped until about 3 AM--the same time they decided to report it! Check-in seemed to be slow, so don't get in a hurry. We had problems with our billing that had to be corrected later.... and that was no picnic! It is conveniently located downtown and the parade route passes in front of the hotel. They give you "passes" for you to return inside the hotel during the time around the parade. The bathrooms are tiny. The door barely misses the edge of the toilet when you close it. The lighting in the bathroom could stand an upgrade. That is one room where you need plenty of light. I think to compensate they added a small table outside the bathroom with a light over it; unfortunately the majority of the table is your coffeepot, cups, etc. The dial-a-number beds are like sleeping on an air mattress (literally), so the thread-count on the sheets doesn't matter. If you have allergies be careful. The room is liberally sprayed with air freshner between guests. We recently also stayed at the Renaissance BATTLE HOUSE Hotel. It is also an older downtown hotel like the Admiral Semmes, but that bathroom was awesome, the bed fabulous and the two simply do not compare beyond location & historical interest. I like the convenience of the Admiral Semmes for Mardi Gras, but I think that next year we will walk an additional block for the difference in comfort.

This is a very nice downtown hotel. The lobby was lovely - marble floors, chandeliers, and mirrored mezzanine - old world elegance. The front desk staff, for the most part, were friendly and competent. They remembered that we were in town for a special event and asked us about it the following morning. The room was not large, but it was comfortable for two people. The SleepNumber bed was also comfortable and it takes awhile to find the right adjustment for each person. Sheets were very nice - of the four pillows on the bed, two were very comfortable and two should have been trashed - flat and worn out. The bathroom is small - one person at at time! - but clean and with nice amenities - lots of hot water - towels were very nice and plentiful - replaced each day. We ate at both restaurants - both were nice and the food was good. Breakfast buffet at Oliver's is very good - lots of selection. Bartender at Admirals Quarters was very funny and took good care of us - be aware that food is not available after 10PM. Only two complaints - the afternoon of my arrival, I was taking a nap and was awakened by a very loud TV next door; Turns out it was the maid cleaning the room. Not acceptable. Also, during check-in, I was asked if I had a car with me. I said "no" but when I got my bill, I had been charged for parking for two cars for two days! The bill was adjusted, but it seemed to take awhile for the staff of understand that I did not have a car. Those were minor incidents in an otherwise very nice stay. Would go there again if I were in the area.

this is a very historic hotel. There was some work going on (painting) but it was not a problem. The rooms are very clean, the bathrooms are small but the hotel is very old. The beds are comfortable, the air works golod, the staff is great, and I would recommend this hotel for ANYONE.
