We came to the hotel for business rather than pleasure, so we had more realistic expectations. The food was generally very good with both cold salads and hot food. The only criticism with the food was the menu tended to be quite similar and predictable (we did stay for 10 days though!). There is a buffet system for the food and as we were on a budget, we stuffed our faces in order to do without lunch and avoid Norwegian prices. We were on a special package that included breakfast and evening meal for around £60.
The hotel is clean, fairly basic and has a swimming pool and a sauna (however the sauna doesn't open until 5pm).
The rooms are basic and on of one of our stays there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. On the second of our visits, there was. There are however free coffee/tea making facilities near the swimming pool area. One other plus is the free Internet access from the rooms which is both wireless or with cable.
There are good views of the sea from one side of the hotel, with poor views on the other.
The hotel building itself from the outside is not too pretty, however there is a garden at the rear of the hotel which is well kept.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Don't be afraid to ask them if you need to borrow something (brollies, Internet cables).
The hotel is about 2 miles from Haugesund town centre and it can be a nice walk if the weather is fine. There is a retail park about 10 minutes' walk away that has a decent selection of shops and a few places to eat. There are busstops directly adjacent to the hotel on the dual carriageway and the old main road. These services run pretty frequently.
All in all very impressed with the hotel for what we needed and for what we paid, but would not choose it as a holiday destination.

We arrived in Haugesund very early on a Sunday morning to be told that everything closes on a Sunday. The hotel rooms are small but comfortable and we were just in time for breakfast which was nice. However, we went for a walk at lunchtime to find a shop, restaurant or anything to get snack and a drink but couldn't find anything!! We waited for dinner which was pretty awful..no idea what the limited food actually was..We realised the next day that the main centre was a couple of miles away..We should have done our research before booking...

Super hotel, rooms well furnished and spacious. Front desk staff were superb, nothing too much trouble. Take hotel's own internet offer that includes evening meal because Norway is very expensive.. £10 for pint and a half of beer at the hotel. Food, breakfast and evening, absolutely first class, Has lovely swimming pool, sauna, bar and beautiful grounds. Ask for room at the back of hotel so you have a view over the Sound and gardens Hotel is set about 10 mins drive from the town centre and 15 from airport, if that. Haguesund is not a hot spot, but there very interesting and there is plenty to see on Karmoy. For a start, the beaches are sensational. We went for three days and enjoyed it immensely, the locals were extremely friendly and kind.
However, beware, you can pay around £20 for a basic pizza . . .but if you scout around there may be food bargains. We found most other things reasonably priced.... but at £70 for two for dbb the Radisson was the biggest bargain of all.
ps: Taxis are costly, you will be better off hiring a car as because public transport may not reach the parts you want to see.

We stayed here over Easter weekend 2004 as it was one of the few hotels in Haugesund actually open over the holiday, and would happily have stayed longer. Fantastic value (weekend rate) in a very expensive country:£64 or US$114 per night for room, breakfast and evening meal for 2 people! Weekdays are twice the price. Our room had water view (ask for one, watch the sun set over the fjord and city), was very clean. Free snacks available in sun lounge next to very nice indoor pool. Very helpful staff.
