Nice hotel, but thats all there was in this ghost town out of the '50s

I stayed here on a business function and it was pretty nice and accomodating for the business function we had. The rooms were comfortable and the sleep number beds were amazing. The price was about right I guess, but the downtown of this sleepy ghost town, was desolate and scary. There is nothing around this spot and if you visit, be sure to venture outside town, because you wont find much around the area. The highlight of the place was the room service which was priced cheap. The staff was very friendly and the catering was great for our function. But outide the walls, the American Legion is about the best thing this old '50s downtown has to offer. I felt like I was in an episode of Leave it to Beaver. Stay in this town for a night, but then get out..its boring. They could lower the price of this place to something lower since this isn't exactly downtown New York!

Great place to stay in the heart of Fargo! I had two small problems, and the staff went above and beyond to help me solve them. I also needed to arrive very late (1:00 am) The staff had my room ready and my key in hand when I checked in, so I could just go and crash without waiting. It was wonderful. The location is great; Fargo's main street is a blast! The rooms are newly renovated and very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

My wife and I went down to Fargo for one night on April 19th, 2008.
When we arrived at the Radisson we were impressed by the lobby and the quick check in.
We got to our room and it was very nice, king size beg, LCD TV and I nice view of Fargo.
WE SHOULD HAVE STAYED IN THE ROOM!!
We were in town for an event that started at 7pm so we thought we’d go for dinner around 5 and should have no troubles so we go down to the lobby and ask one of the girls working the front desk if there were any nice places to go for dinner that were walking distance. She told us about two that were just a block away so we thought this was perfect. On are arrival to the first place (maybe 5 people in the whole place) we were told that you needed reservations on Saturdays and they had nothing available.
So we walk down the street to the next place and it was the same, no one in the place and no room for us unless we had reservations.
Not really the fault of the hotel but the girls who recommended them should have known you need reservations before sending us.
So now that I was getting hungrier and grumpy we just decide to go back to the hotel and eat at their restaurant. We get there and it seemed very nice, we were seated right away in a nice booth, looking over the menu it had some nice options, I was actually looking forward to the bacon wrapped filet but no one had come to talk to us yet, get our drink orders, bring us water, nothing! Then the hostess seats another couple a booth over form us, no word of a lie within 3 minutes a waitress comes with water for them and tells them about the specials. We wait a little longer and then a different waitress comes by and checks on the table on the other side of us and then she leaves and walks right past us as we sit there with are menus closed at the corner of the table (and still with no water). We waited another 7 minutes (15mins total) and finally said that we were leaving. We told the hostess that sat us on our way out and it seemed like she really didn’t care. As we were walking out we notice the lounge so we thing we will just run there and get some appetizers and drinks to hold us over. We find a table close to the bar, sit down and wait….and wait….and wait.
Strike two! Back up to the room and we order pizza from Papa John’s. The only good thing is that we spent $18 on pizza and not $100 for steak at the over priced hotel restaurant.
So we go to our event and then come back around 11pm and wanted a night cap so stupidly back to the lounge we go. We order a couple drinks each and then we thought we’d get an order of nachos. 15mins after ordering the nachos the bartender says there was a mix up with the order and it would be another 7mins. (his words, not mine)
25mins later he comes and says if won’t be much longer, my wife and I just laugh because it serves us right for trusting this place again.
My final verdict on this hotel is that it is very nice looking, our room was very nice ($144 a night so it better be better then average) but the service was very sub-par.
Such a waste.

I booked a non-smoking room online and when I got there they told me they had none left. I didn't "request" a non-smoking room, I had a confirmed non-smoking room. And the funny thing is the person who checked in ahead of me asked for a smoking room and they said all they had left was non-smoking. Of course they blamed it all the fact that I booked online, not through them (and their even more inflated prices). But if your staff can't figure out how to put the correct people in the correct room type, then stop using travel sites to book for you.
When we finally got in our room, it was completely disgusting and smelled awful. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been properly cleaned in months... the towels were dirty! I cannot believe I payed over $100 for this disgusting experience. I'm even considering throwing my luggage away because I can't get the smoke smell out of it.
