I booked the hotel through their site choicehotels.com and found the price was so affordable. We were not thinking the room we booked was so huge. Two rooms: 1 living room and 1 bed room.
We stayed in Presidential Suite on 12th floor!!! The view of the snowy mountain for San Bernardino? lol.
The hotel is located in the downtown of San Bernardino. It is adjacent to the city hall and businesses.
O yea the hotel have their own security people and they look professional to us.
I would stay in this hotel again next time and recommend to all my associate to stay in this hotel.

I had an absolutely dreadful stay at the San Bernardino Clarion. My car was broken into while I was parked in the hotel designated parking. The hotel refused to offer me any compensation even though another guest reported suspicious activity to the front desk and I parked where they directed me to park. The following night the whole hotel had to be evacuated by the fire department in the middle of the night due to a power outage. I had to carry heavy luggage down 14 stories since the lifts where not working. The rooms are old and worn out. The complementary continental breakfast was ridiculously inedible.

Stayed here on a week night last week. Did not have the problems with hot water, noise etc. mentioned in prior reviews. Hotel was looking a little worn and tired, but what do you expect from downtown San Berdoo? Room size was fine. Restaurant food was ok. Downtown was dead. Wireless was $10 per day and was very much hit or miss. Front desk was friendly enough. Bottom line: if you want high end, don't stay in San Berdoo; but if you have to be downtown, this place is tolerable, and appears to be about as good as you're going to get in San Berdoo.

Last weekend, my partner and I stayed at the Clarion(?) hotel in downtown San Bernardino, Ca. I put the question mark next to the name because we were never told for sure whether the hotel was a Clarion or Radisson. Online the name says "Clarion" and my confirmation printout says the same. This caused some problems when I called the day of our reservation to ask for an early check-in. I first called the 800 # on my confirmation thinking it was the direct number to our hotel. When I finally reached a [------------]operator I asked if I could get our hotel number. The operator looked up our record and said she had us confirmed at the Radisson. I explained to the operator that I had reserved a room at the Clarion and the operator told me, very rudely, that I was staying at the Radisson. I was really confused and didn't know what was happening. I asked the operator if the hotel had changed their name. She said she didn't know. I then asked if she could verify the address. She did so and seemed pretty put out by the request. Turns out the hotel had changed their name. It was a good thing we had called because we probably would have wasted time driving around looking for the "Clarion." It would have been even been better if the [-----------] staff could have clued us in or at least have been nicer about the confusion.
When we finally arrived at the Clarion(?) the hotel lobby was empty however it took awhile to check in. The hotel lobby itself looked pretty nice and we saw a gift shop and concierge near the front desk. The two clerks at the desk seemed friendly. One of them was in training and the other got a seemingly personal phone call in the middle of checking us in. While we waited the more knowledgeable clerk talked on the phone while the trainee looked around uncomfortably. When the clerk ended her phone call we finally got our key and went straight up to the room.
At first sight, we were glad we were only staying one night. The room was pretty small. That would have been ok however the bathroom was a problem. When we checked out the bathroom we were both unpleasantly surprised. It was so small that it was difficult to close the door while on the toilet. The most disturbing thing is that the bathroom wasn't clean. It was very nasty! The tub had mold set into the tiling, the slip guard in the tub was discolored, there were questionable stains on the floor near the toilet, and an unpleasant surprise left in one of the bath towels-- I won't gross you out by telling you about that! At the very least, a hotel should clean the rooms properly.
I was so tired because of the long drive so I decided to take a nap. The first thing I noticed was that the walls were really thin. You can pretty much hear everything in the next room. Despite that, exhaustion took over. Within an hour of laying down, the phone rang. I picked it up and it was the hotel operator. Apparently, someone had taken a shower and water was leaking into the hotel restaurant so they were trying to figure out which room it was. That made us decide against eating there even though we had been given complimentary breakfast vouchers for the next morning.
I was pretty much awake after that. I looked through the hotel's guest directory and laughed as I noticed that they had pink sticky notes over the parts that named the hotel. We noticed that the amenities included a gym and room service but we never tried either one. The best thing I had discovered at this point was that the air conditioning worked well. It was about 90 degrees outside so we were grateful for that.
The next morning brought us another unpleasant surprise. Apparently, there was some construction going on outside the hotel's parking garage. We drove where we were instructed to by the construction crew and afterwards noticed our car started to shake really bad. It was so bad it seemed as if a tire had blown out! Upon inspection, we saw our tires just covered in tar from the construction site. It was awful because we had to wait for the tar to dry up and flake off while we were driving before the shaking subsided.
I wouldn't recommend this hotel but I don't know of a better one in this city. To be fair, we didn't try the restaurant, gym or gift shop so maybe those areas might have been better. We were just really put off by the experience. When we reviewed the listings of hotels on hotels.com this place was one of the highest rated, three stars, and seemingly affordable. Given it was only a night's stay and part of a major chain, I thought we'd be taken care of. Not so.
AVOID !!! - no hot water!!!

I stayed here 10 plus nights this year because I am on a project in downtown San Bernarino and this hotel is close to the client. The food is pretty good but I can never get hot water. Having stayed in 4-5 different rooms its always the same. I call the front desk , they send an engineer and nothing happens. Considering they are at mayve 10-15% occupancy and have turned off some of the elevators to save money one can wonder why there is no hot water.....
