We had called in the reservation to make sure that we would get a big, light room with a view. We were then told to book a businessroom and so we did.
When we arrived we got a room at the upper floor (5) with no view, except to the office building 7 metres away and the room was in need of refurbishment. Broken tiles in the batroom, dirty walls and the size of the room is just the same as the ordinary rooms.
A male member of the staff was rather rude when we complained about what we had been promised on the phone when we booked the hotel and what we finally had been presented with. The 100 % satisfaction guarantee (or you will get your money back) does not work, because we first asked for another room without getting one, then asked whether some of the worst stains on the walls could be removed and we also handed in a written complaint. I finally ended up using one of the towels and cleaned the room myself. And we had to pay the full price for the room.

This Hotel is right on Bryggen (sp) street very close to all of the tourist activities. The front desk was very nice. We were there the week between Christmas and New Year. Don't forget to go to the desk and get a towel if you plan to use the pool and the Solarium is 10 nok for 5 min or 5 nok for 2.5 min. The pool is nice and cool. Sauna is a bit more hot than I'm use to but delightful given the cold and wet weather there this time of year. The breakfast is included in the business class wage rooms as well as the movies in your room. Well worth the extra money if you are there in the winter with the extra hours of darkness or during a holiday when the stores may close a little earlier. The front desk has wine bottle openners if you find yourself wanting to purchase a bottle at the wine monopoly and wanting to watch it in your room. Pepe's Pizza delivers.

Stayed here for 2 nights in 2003. Excellent front desk service...which gave us a very cheap upgrade to a junior suite! Great breakfast and supper....awesome location to see Bryggen and the rest of Bergen. Have spent a lot of time in Bergen, and this is the best hotel by far because of solid, friendly (and honest) service by staff, cleanliness, and the best and prettiest hotel location in all of Bergen. Would recommend this hotel above any other hotel in Bergen...it's not even close.

A groiup of 50 people, traveling with a tour group, stayed here 2 nights before and one night after our Norwegian Coastal Voyage. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff very accommodating, even when I blew a fuse in the room, and the included breakfast buffet had anything we desired. The location, in the historic Bryggen section of the city, was close to many attractions, Bergen's famed fish market, St. Mary's Church, the oldest building in Northern Europe, and many others. The only drawback was that the hotel bar doesn't open on Sundays. However, beverages, alcoholic and otherwise, are available in the restaurant, where the food is excellent but rather expensive.

Arrived for a 4 night stay in an Executive room. Welcome at reception was ok but hardly effusive. Given a room on the 4th floor with a view of the building opposite. Room was small and shabby. No robes and slippers as there were supposed to be, scuffed paintwork and generally depressing. When was brown last used to decorate hotel rooms? 1970? Probably the last time it was painted! Housekeeping was erratic.
Good points were breakfast, which offered a good choice, free wireless connection in the rooms and the location which is convenient for museums etc. Also, the airport bus leaves from directly outside. Otherwise I would say that the hotel offers poor value and you can do better at the sas norge or other properties
