I cringed when i saw the dreaded Ramada name came up when i Pricelined a 2 1/2 star hotel in Grand Rapids. Most Ramada's to be honest are absolutely the worst hotels on the planet. I was pleasantly surprised by this property. The lobby was very nice at check in and the check in staff was nicely dressed, friendly and professional. I did not use the pool area but did a walk through on my way to my room. The area smelled quite a bit like chlorine and was a bit hot and humid but this is to be expected from a pool and hot tub in the middle of the hotel set-up.
The hallways leading to the room were well maintained and the carpet clean and attractive.
The room was surprisingly livable. The carpet was clean and appeared new. The bed was quite comfortable and had decent quality linen. The bathroom was a little bit on the small side but was very clean. The shower had great pressure with no mold or mildew to be found in the grout.
For the small amount paid on Priceline the Ramada Plaza represents a great value and i would definately not hesitate to stay here again in the future.
How about that, there IS one Ramada on the face of the earth that doesn't suck!

This hotel has wonderful employees, from the desk people to cleaning people. Very friendly and helpful. This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel and both visits were very enjoyable. I traveled on business but will return with my family in the future. The waterslide was huge and pool area a nice set up to enjoy friends and family. The breakfast area was clean and served excellent omlets! Love the decorations - very bright and pretty. The hotel is at a great location. Major mall that I could easily walk to and Starbucks in the parking lot! I couldn't have asked for more.

Although nothing spectacular, this was certainly a very nice hotel. The rooms as well as the hotel common areas were very clean with pleasant decor. The employees were friendly and helpful. The pool area was certainly better than what might be expected for a hotel of this class (although it was very crowded when the slide was open). The complimentary breakfast was about average. I had dinner at the attached restaurant which was certainly nice. I was attending a conference at nearby Calvin College, and found the location to be very convenient not just to the college, but to many shopping and dining options. Overall if you are going to be in GR for a short stay, I would strongly suggest the Ramada.

I was in Grand Rapids for a conference, and this room was booked for me. The hotel was quite pleasant and well appointed. It is across the street from a large mall. There is no restaurant in the hotel, but an Old Chicago restaurant is adjacent. That's the only eating spot within easy walking distance. The complimentary breakfast was quite good--scrambled eggs, sausage, some kind of pancake sticks, plus cold options. The room was fine except for a little noise from the nearby elevator, and a TV remote control that seemed to need a fresh set of batteries.
Nice place

The hotel is located right next to a mall and plenty of restaurants. The staff was very courteous, the room was very clean, and the amenities were great. (No continental breakfast is provided, though!)
Okay, I have ONE complaint. The housekeeping staff sounded like a bunch of hens clucking and screeching in the hallway every morning. "Mirar aqui!"
Also, if you have kids, they have a water slide and pool inside. They call it a water park, but I'd call it a "pool with a slide"... maybe I'm just spoiled because I live by Disney in real life.
