This hotel is next to the Tuyap exhibition and convention centre. What an ideal location to book if you are attending a conference (you would have thought). We booked early (6 months in advance) and secured a good rate. As the conference got closed the hotel booked up. In fact they overbooked to the extent that 2 days before the conference they cancelled all the early booking people had made in favour of the later higher rate bookings, ours included. I would not trust that any booking made with this hotel would be honoured.

Good Hotel for Business...so and so for tourism

I have been in Kaya for business many times during last couple of years.
It's a five star hotel. There is a fitness club, sauna, 2 pools and many other services available for the guests.
The personel is friendly even if sometimes, excluding receptionists, they don't understand english even if they claim so.
The room is big but I would expect something more because, somehow, it
doesn't fit with five star quality I have in my mind.
There are three restaurants plus one bar where you can eat burgers
or fried potatoes.
Two are at the second floor, but one of them is often closed and the other, where morning breakfast (very good) is also served, often offers buffet dinner (the quality of the food is good, not so the choice) .
The third one is on the top of the hotel, nice view of the lake, if you choose the right side, and nice food. If you choose this third option be prepared to talk a lot or, if you are alone, take with you a book, the service is not the fastest I have ever seen.
The bar is good for a beer while you are playing billiard but not so good for eating. If you really cannot live without a cheeseburger, mcdonalds is 200 meters far.
Kaya ramada is in a strange area. the neighborhood is a mix of
residential/commercial/industrial area and is also next to a trade fair center.
Except mcdonalds, you can find few restaurants in the middle of the
buildings beside Kaya. Never tried.
If you are looking for a nice place to go, there is the Sinan bridge in Buyukcekmece (4-5 Km). It is on the lake I was talking about before.
In that area there are a couple of nice restaurants and also the public turkish bath.
I suggest this hotel for Business and meetings.
They are well organized about that.
For tourism is ok but the main problem is to reach the center.
There are 40/50 minutes by car depending on the traffic and whenever you want to go somewhere you need a car.
