Booked a family room and everything turned out to be excellent. The mini-kitchenette was a nice touch as drinks and baby food could be stored easily. The room and bathroom were very clean and the bed and pillows were excellent. Breakfast was substantial and the colouring pencils for the kids in a neat timber case were a nice touch. The underground parking was also handy.
I had no complaints and would not hesitate to book this hotel again and would recommend it.

I just completed a six night stay at the Ramada Treff hotel in Darmstadt, Germany. As a result of my career in the Army, I've had numerous opportunities to stay in hotels in Germany and throughout most of western Europe. The Ramada stacked up well, especially considering the cost. It's a little unfair to compair this hotel to a typical U.S. hotel - though interestingly enough, Ramada has a much better image (and hotel) in Europe then in the States. The room was large enough, but I had two single beds which weren't able to be pushed together. I have to admit, the bed was narrow and I was sandwiched in between the closet (freestanding) and the center night stand. It was comfortable and the down comforter was great. For some strange reason, the rooms in the hotel don't come with a clock. The bathroom was nice, though the vanity space was severely limited. The breakfast buffet was outstanding and well-priced at 12 euros. A well-stocked supermarket (Tengelmann) is next door, which proved to be quite convenient; and a version of a KFC is a block down the street (very good chicken). I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This was an excellent hotel experience. The staff was very courteous and knowledgable. The hotel has a small bar with a wide choice of beers, wines, and mixed drinks. There is also a nicely appointed restaurant that serves a breakfast buffet and dinner (though occasionally it is hard to find someone to take your order). The breakfast buffet offers a choice of both European and American-style breakfast foods. My room had 2 beds, which were slightly narrower than the standard American twin bed--I solved this by pushing them together to make the equivalent of a queen. Parking is in an underground garage, and each parking space is on a lift--if the garage is full, push a button and the cars lift up, revealing additional parking underneath.
The location is within walking distance of several nice restaurants and supermarkets--for those really missing that American touch, there is a Wal-Mart a few blocks down Eschollbrucker Strasse.
