This hotel was very old. The pool was small, the tile around it was old and dirty looking. The rooms were small and very dated. However, the rooms were clean. The breakfast was good but received only 2 tickets for the complimentary breakfast and we had 4 in our party. It served our purpose but we will try not to stay there again.

This hotel is nice when you first arrive as described by other guests. The lobby is clean and updated and the employees were friendly.
However, when you get to your room, you find out why people don't like this hotel. The rooms are outdated, especially on the 8th Floor, the walls are marked up, and it was generally dirty.
There wasn't a free complimentary breakfast available when we stayed over a Saturday night and the location is something to be desired, considering it is not next to any convenience stores that we could find within walking distance.
I would not stay here again.

We used this hotel for a conference. The staff was very nice, as you would expect in Northern WI. But it was very poorly managed.
Check in was a very slow process. Some people stood in line for up to 45 minutes. I think they were running DOS machines. It would have been faster to do it by hand. At check out, their printer was broken, so people were not able to get a receipt and had to call after and have it mailed to them.
When I checked in, there was an open, half empty shampoo bottle from the previous visitor in the shower. My guess was that the shower did not get cleaned. Went to my car to get lysol wipes and wiped down the entire bathroom. Glad I brought my own pillow - wish I had thought to bring my own sheets but I expected much better from a Ramada.
Another conference attendee found dried vomit behind the TV in their room. Many attendees complained of dirty rooms.
They said they had all new beds, but one attendee cut his arm after rolling over on something sharp in his bed, and they could not find what it was that cut him. They did not sleep well.
The entire hotel had a run down, unclean feel to it.
The hotel dryer broke down the night before our conference. The idea of visiting a laundry mat apparently did not occur to the management. So vendors had to set up displays on bare, scuffed up and splintered tables. We were promised table cloths first thing in the morning. But their linen vendor didn't open until 10am (why did management not know that?) so during the opening session people sitting a tables without linen - some tables were plastic, others were wooden and all of those had splintery broken edges.
The combo conference center/hotel meeting area was not at all accessible. We had people in wheelchairs using a freight elevator just off their kitchen. There were no bathrooms on the upper level of the convention center, so you had to go outside conference center to get to the hotel lobby if you did not want to take the stairs down to the lower level. One of their meeting rooms could only be reached by a set of stairs. Seventeen years after the ADA -American's with Disabilities Act - was signed into law, how are they getting away with this?
They did not have an AV specialist on staff - how can they host conferences without one? Very poorly. I asked for help getting a laptop plugged into the room's sound system, and they sent me the janitor, he was their AV person. I wondered of the janitor was also in charge of lunch. A sandwich with one, very thin piece of turkey, a slice of cheese, a single leaf of lettuce and one tiny slice of tomato. The rest of the meal was a tiny side of cole slaw. As you can imagine, many people were left feeling hungry. On the good side, the kids menu was tomato soup and grilled cheese sandwiches. Wish I had asked for the kids menu.
The conference planning information was misleading. The numbers they had listed one meeting room capacity was very misleading - overly generous.
We will never go back to this hotel. Ramada should pull their accreditation.

I stayed here for a conference last month, and was honestly a little worried after a horrible experience I had with a ramada in another state, but this proved to be a much better experience.
They seemed to be a little understaffed (the same girl that checked us in and out, brought our delivered package to our room) but we checked in with no problem. I attended the same conference as the reviewer below me and there were some difficulties checking out, but my invoice was mailed in very reasonable time, and they were very nice about the process.
The room was very clean and comfortable, especially the bathroom, and I did not feel sketched out about using the shower, like the previous ramada experience. I slept wonderfully every night as the beds were very comfortable!
The conference food was horrendous, and I didn't eat much during the day (at our last lunch I choked down three bites of tasteless mashed potato and half a roll). the restaurant however had amazing food and I stuffed myself silly with incredible dinners and breakfasts every day. The prices were extremely reasonable too for the quality of food. Sometimes the service was a little slow though even when the restaurant was basically empty.
Overall, I probably wouldn't stay here again if I were booking my own accommodations, but I don't have any major complaints for my stay. It was good for the occasion.

Whatever the reviews on this website say, things have changed. I was just there and they had new carpet in the hotel (one week ago), they were putting up new wall coverings and the check out person said they were going to be getting new beds and linens by the end of February.
All in all, a very pleasant place.
The lobby and the restaurant are very nice too.
The location is great if you are looking at doing things downtown.
