I am a regular Ramada guest and a Whyndam Rewards member and I am seriously reconsidering my loyalty to the brand after a stay I had this past April. First the reception area felt like a doctors office, it was cluttered and dirty and it took nearly 10 mins. for someone to show-up in the lobby to check me in. When I got to my room the smell of really bad stale cigarette smoke hung in the air, and there were two large female hairs in the shower. After calling downstairs to complain I was relocated to a much smaller room this time on a lower floor that was clean, but it also offered a clear view of the disguting activities outside my window girls conducting business all night long. I didn't sleep a wink.
I wont be back anytime soon.

Goood location!!!!
The bedroom was fantastic, very comfortable beds, lots of space. The location is good too, the hotel is front of a beautifull park, and you can go on foot easier to downtown, to St. Lawrence Market and City Hall. very good staff!
Two problems: The windows do not open and doesnt have a refrigerator.

We stay here when our daughter has an appointment at Sick Kids Hospital. They are always very accommodating and give us a great hospital rate! The rooms are very clean and the staff friendly! It is a great location, easy to get to the hospital and other locations in Toronto!

This hotel is perfectly acceptable, but nothing special, so it really depends what you want - if you want somewhere that is near the city centre, which is reasonably priced, then this is a good option. The front-desk staff were pleasant (as were virtually everyone we met in Toronto - do they put happy pills in the water? So nice!) and the location is good (comments have been made about prostitution in the area, we saw one prostitute hanging around in the early evening, which to be fair, respect due - it was REALLY COLD!) We certainly never felt in danger and there wasn't a lot of dodgy characters around at all. The hotel is convenient for the Toronto gay ghetto, which was great and once again very friendly to all.
The gym and pool area was not good - we went down one evening and the pool was absolutely freezing - the hot tub was just about warm - not what you want in the middle of winter. The sauna and steam room were of the type where you have to turn them on (rather than being on constantly), so you have to go down at least half an hour before to warm them up. It's a shame, as it's an asset in a reasonably-priced hotel.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, we walked round to the Fran's diner by the metro station, which did enormous breakfasts for reasonable price.
Some advice for British people thinking of visiting Canada in winter - it's really cold and you will need thermals! We were so glad we had them, although didn't wear them on an everning, as we only went round the corner to Church and Wellesley district for socialising.
Really enjoyed Toronto - one of the nicest friendliest cities I've ever visited, just one question - why so many homeless people? It makes British cities look good!

After checking the net we found this hotel for a decent price. We did request one of the "new" rooms and got it. It was ok, the bathroom on the other hand was small.
When I checked in I found the gentleman behind the counter rude. Twice I had to ask him about the parking since he talked to fast and seemed in no mood to answer my questions. So I sent my husband down once we got into the room, he had no trouble... Took the kids to the pool, if you call it that. It is small, good enough for a dip I guess. It looked a little green around the sides, needs to be cleaned.
With all that said, if you want a good price hotel that is in a good location, then this will do. We were able to walk to mostly everything downtown, including Roger's Center, CN tower and so on. Just don't expect a five star hotel with this one, but it will do for a place to sleep.
